It was a Saturday morning, Sarah was immersed in her work when she heard a gentle knock on her door. She checked the time and realized it was still early and there was no one she was expecting on that day. She finally opened the door and saw a young woman holding a flower standing at her doorpost. She didn't look familiar, but her smile was welcoming. On the rustic bouquet was a small tag, on it written "Thank you sarah". It must be from a familiar person , she thought.
"Hello, I'm Joy, an anonymous person gave us this rustic bouquet to deliver to you" she said, stretching the bouquet to Sarah who collected it with surprise written on her face.
"No identity?" She asked.
"No, He refused to include a name" Joy responded.
It wasn't her birthday, anniversary, or a special day she can think of. She held it dearly, smelling the sweet fragrance that oozed from the petals. She wondered how this stranger knew her favourite flower and perfume, and this made it more special. As she shut the door, she hopes to know who this anonymous person is someday. The surprise delivery was a reminder to her that sometimes the most appreciated gifts are given without fanfare. The rest of the weekend became special for Sarah who kept wondering who had sent her a surprise delivery just when she needed it most.
