Pic1000: The Raccoon Behind The Wood log
The image below shows a Raccoon sneaking behind a log. The eyes are focused and seem to move slowly to avoid being noticed. Since raccoons are omnivores, always hunting insects and animals smaller than them, I feel it's hunting a grasshopper or a frog that doesn't need much sneaking around.
Judging from the distance of its gaze and direction , I believe the prey isn't lying far from its position- it's going for a lazy catch yet doesn't want to miss its meal.
Story inspired by the image
One afternoon, on a sunny day. A raccoon that had walked a certain distance in search of a shade among the trees to rest, discovered a frog hopping in the shrubs. Luck had not shone on her the previous night she had hunted and she was hungry.
Slowly she walked around the log of wood that was lying in the shrubs and observed the frog for a few minutes before going for the catch. It wasn't a hard catch but she was careful not to stir the frog's defence.
The raccoon held the frog and searched for water where she doused it. A few minutes after feeling satisfied, she walked a few more meters searching for other prey and hoping she would be lucky again. A day that had started with a search for a shade to dodge the scorching sun, ended up becoming another hunting tour .
