Christmas in winter

There are fun ways to celebrate Christmas, Maria told herself as she tried to find ways to make her son Gabriel have a blissful festival. They lived in the outskirts of England, in a plain covered with woods and snow. Gabriel was 17, he had lived with his mum Maria in the woods since he was five. Each year his mum will find a special way to have fun in Christmas and Gabriel couldn't wait for each surprise

In 2023, During the Christmas festival, Maria bore holes in woods she carved from trees in the shape of flutes and took Gabriel to the woods to show him what she had crafted.
"No music and bands to sing for us" she told him, "we can make our own song from this" she added , handing the long flutes she had crafted to Gabriel. Gabriel observed it for a while before making an attempt to blow it and to his amazement, it gave a sweet sound.

"Wow, how did you do this?" He asked, still amazed at how clear the sound came out.
"My mum taught us how to make flutes when I was 10. It was more fancier than this, but I found out the longer it was, the better the sound" she told him.

She blew it for a moment, singing out the merry Christmas song, then motioned for Gabriel to join her. Filled with joy they both sang together, finding a way to stay happy. Soon, the cold weather didn't matter as they got engrossed in it and sang through the evening.
