A picture is worth a thousand words

The picture below looks like that of an ancient vulture. It has creamy feathers, a hooked beak, a watchful dark eyes and it looks like a creature that has seen a thousand seasons past.

Story

A traveler wandered into a barren land. It was a land people rarely travel through. There he met a cinereous vulture with creamy feathers and watchful dark eyes. One could tell it had lived a thousand years hiding in one of the mountains that was once standing. It looked hungry, and might have traveled a far distance before succumbing to its longing for food. Only a few greener fields had survived the rise of civilization.

The vulture tried to escape as he reached for it, but its strength failed it. The stranger bent forward and dropped a piece of his meat and poured some water for it to drink. He stepped back and watched the vulture hungrily devour the meat after which it reached for the water.

With a tear, and watchful eyes, it looked at the stranger, and waited for a little time before flying away. The stranger felt satisfied but left a burden in his heart as he continued his journey of how civilization may bring to extinction creatures that once lived.

A very interesting story to read. The vulture is a dark creature that perfectly complements stories of melancholy and darkness.

Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Excellent night.
