FanArt Collab: Dr. Stone X Jojo's Bizarre Adventures (@tegoshei X @suezoe)

Earlier last month, I exchanged comments with my dear friend @suezoe, and we decided to collaborate on an anime art. She mostly does digital art, and I suck at it, but she's so kind and proposed us to make an anime art the traditional way.

(I'll try to challenge digital art next time, even just on my phone when we do another collab.)

We communicated outside of HIVE to brainstorm ideas on how to collaborate. And this is what we came up with. :)

On the left is my drawing of Senku from Dr. Stone, and on the right is Sue's drawing of Josuke Higashitaka from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. The pose was inspired by the iconic Hinata-Kageyama fist bump in Haikyuu! ^^

It's my first time collaborating with someone. It's amazing how we could create stuff despite being on opposite sides of the world. Thanks a lot for this wonderful experience @suezoe! <3

Now, let me share how I made my side of this collaboration art.

We decided to use a letter-size paper, and I used colored pencils to color my drawing. Let's start!

Sue sent me her draft first, and based on her draft, I adjusted the position of Senku's fist before I started sketching.

We also decided on a half-body sketch and placed these upper and lower borders inspired by the reference we used. Though I changed it quite a bit into a V-like shape when connected. :)




I then did the outlining using a 0.5 gel pen... as for the border, I used my calligraphy pen. :)

Here's a clear photo of the outlined version. I cleaned it up by erasing the initial pencil sketch and got ready for coloring. I've been painting a lot these days, so I've gotten used to using watercolor or poster paints, but this time, I'll be using colored pencils. It's been a while!

Coloring will always be my favorite part. It's like giving life to the drawing. Senku is fun to color because I only need simple and plain colors, but I blended in various stuff to make it look better. Here's a closer look below.



I'm yet to watch the latest available season of Dr. Stone, but I'm planning to binge-watch everything from the beginning when it's completed, so I'll wait until then. I've watched the first three seasons a couple of times already. :)



Finally, I wrote my username and signature on my drawing. After I finished it, I sent a copy to Sue. :)

I'm going to give her 50% beneficiary for this post as a way of thanks. I'm happy to collaborate with her, and I look forward to creating more stuff with her in the future! :)
