Hello everyone!! I hope you're all doing great today...🙂
As I am a huge fan of Studio Ghibli movies, here's another classic and amazing film by Hayao Miyazaki.
I re-watched this adorable and bubbly anime last night called My Neighbor Totoro. I've already watched it a long time ago with my daughter and somewhat forgot the story a little bit. I am glad that it is still on Netflix. I enjoyed watching it last night, even if I watched it alone, because my daughter was working. And because I enjoyed it so much, I am giving you my review of it.
My Neighbor Totoro tells the story of two young, adorable sisters, Natsuki and Mei, as they move and settle in a new house in the countryside with their father and wait for their mother to recover from illness in a nearby hospital.
The house is kind of a haunted house, but Natsuki and Mei seem really brave and adventurous. As they explore their new home, they encounter and befriend playful spirits. Not just in their home, but also in the forest, not far from their home.
I love how adorable these young sisters are, especially the youngest, Mei, who happens to meet and befriend Totoro first. Their encounter was so adorable and heartwarming. All the characters in this film are really great, most especially the nanny who always helps them with the household chores and takes care of Mei while Natsuki is in school and their father is at work.
It is really interesting and inspiring to see these little girls' perspectives on mythical creatures. And good thing their father believes and supports them, and even guides them, and prays that they'll be protected by nature. I also love how they worry about their mom's health situation despite their very young age. I love how Natsuki cared about her younger sister, too.
The direction is again top-notch from Hayao Miyazaki. The visuals and setting are so stunning. As always, I honestly love a setting like this. The beautiful and huge farm is covered with various healthy plants, including vegetables, the friendly forest and caring neighborhood, and above all, the kind and loving Totoro.
I really enjoy the mythical bus. 😊 The creativity and the work of imagination made this a wholesome and incredible surreal journey that can make you smile throughout the ending.
This is really a heartwarming and feel-good film for all walks of life and ages. It really inspires, especially for the young viewers. It gives the young kids a valuable lesson, even us adults. That is why I really love Studio Ghibli. It never ceases to amaze us viewers.
This is again a worth watching movie, so I am inviting you once again if you haven't watched it yet. But I love to watch this film again and again and again.🥰 This is really such a good vibe. I don't want to spoil you, but I'm hoping you'll give it a try if you like this kind of movie.
I'll end my post here, and thank you so much for dropping by and for reading.
Until my next post...see you around and God bless...❤🙏😊
