A Nigerian artist sang "I'd rather be crying in a Bentley" trying to prove with her song that it's better to be in wealth than be in poverty because like the prompt says, not having money hinders a whole lot of things that having money doesn't. Money is a complex aspect in our world today but the debate on if it brings happiness is still on.
From what I see in the movies and a few persons I've encountered, living in real wealth is totally different and always seem better from my side of life. It's not that I'm from a poor background where I struggled with important things I needed money for but I understand very well how better it would have been to get those things and more.
If we are talking about happiness, the fleeting emotion that results from external circumstances or specific events... Yes, money can buy that over and over. There are countless things that can make one happy and money can buy them. While money can buy happiness, money can not buy "Joy", an enduring inner state of contentment.
So many misunderstand that money can only make them happy for the things they are able to get and achieve physically with the money, they make themselves believe they will find that joy when they make so much money. The reality is, if they don't build contentment or satisfaction with the little things that really matter, they'll miss it.
One thing is for sure though, if the money made and spent is genuine, one can build joy and enjoy happiness as they continue to live. Money can be very powerful, we've seen how it destroys families, friends, lives and even nations. We've also seen it save lives because of it's availability to access things that will provide health cures.
People do say money can't buy good health, good sleep and peace of mind but that same money can get you the best treatments (of course, we all know healing comes from God), a good bed to sleep on and money can provide no reasons for you to worry about the things that the poor worry about every time. It's always better with money.
But for what really matters before money, is the contentment or satisfaction feeling while you pursue more money. We all need money but prioritising our joy for fleeting emotions is where it could go wrong. Personally, I know it's hard to be satisfied with the little one has but I know how relieving it is to be satisfied with what I've got.
Money is good, it's great to be happy especially in this world that there's too much unhappiness going around, but for the things that truly matter, I believe it's what every human should think more on and prioritize while they pursue what will give them happiness. It's a world of uncertainties and hardship but with money, we get to not only afford what we really need but also help others.

Joy is an emotion of sorts that's worth striving to have. It brings a good sense of stability against the ups and downs of the uncertainties of this world. Money is a handy tool that can help me solve a good portion of my problems, solving those problems can make me happy, sometimes. Even more so, when I use this handy tool to also other people's problems, more happiness comes from that.
That's a beautiful perspective, it's more beautiful to help others and the happiness is more lasting.
Talk to me directly ...some people here in lagos are simply oppressing nkem but I refuse to give in...e no dey move me...contention is my embrace , while I pursue what gives me happiness in my own way
