Hello Hello Hivians and welcome another Wednesday!
I seem to have had an incredibly busy couple of weeks, what with doing things and going here there and everywhere, the one great side thing of all this is that I seem to have taken a fluffing gazillion pictures and have content for weeks.
The hardest part is putting those memories onto the blockchain!
This records a wee bit of Saturday 15th February when we had to do some things in St Andrews, in Fife Scotland.
We were walking to the castle that I wanted to go and take Mrs T around and saw this house...
When Mrs T who now seems to use her Native American heritage to be my official spotter scout for things said, take a picture of that house it looks like giant mecanno!
Did you have mecanno sets as a kid? I did and loved building stuff!
I am not sure if there was a fire, but the great things is that the exterior wall is being retained.
I love seeing buildings being renovated or refurbished. Too much seems to be getting destroyed in the name of progress.
Progress my arse, just the greedy bastards making a fast buck.
But it did look like a giant mecanno set to me. It also looked a bit like a sheer vertical cliff drop...
Which brings me nicely to the view from the end of the road...
The tide was out as you shall see in a moment or two.
Can you see what is on that little cliff face?
On the right lower corner, three white dots...
Let's zoom in a wee bit closer
They are a fluffing nuisance and a pest, but are protected.
They are cute when they are like that, but they are noisy so and so's!
We are walking along The Scores a road leading up from the golf course to St Andrews Castle. The castle is a ruin but is so full of history that I shall make a properly dedicated post solely to.
My grandmother and her family were from St Andrews so it is a town that is dear to my heart.
I walked along here many times in my youth.
The old swimming pool was there but some of what you see is new.
The day was wet windy and cold but that didn't deter some people as you will see.
In the distance you can see a vast expanse of sand which is called West Sands...
I need to take you for a proper walk along there. Of course in the summer now it is jam packed.
Gone are the days when you could stroll around at any time and it would only be golfers who were the real tourists.
West Sands is actually where I took my steps as little Edward many many years ago!
If you saw the bare trees in the early pictures then you might like to know that hidden in there was this gorgeous wee chappie!
I intially thought it was a sparrow but google lens threw up the Dunnoch. Maybe @nelinoeva knows more...?
The buildings you saw where the St Andrews aquarium
I do love places that have information signs!
That might be interesting to see after all ifthey feed them and give some decent talks.
Meerkats are all over UK television commercials, not sure about your country?
I think this is an Italian restaurant, talk about a cracking sea view!
Never been though, in fact it is rare I go to an Italian restaurant anywhere!
I shall leave you with a shot of loads of people on this cold wet winter's February day walking along the beach, some were even paddling.
Join me next week as we shall explore Martyr's monument and the home of golf!
Well this post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated. Note images are all snapped by me with my Google Pixel 9 XL Pro smartphone on the 15th February 2025 and some were used in canva to make the lead image.

SO wonderful Wednesday walked you have, the place is nice and the view was so pretty.this is what i like about walking and seeing beautiful views and scenery.Gods creation is so wonderful and amazing. Forever i am grateful that God blessed his people a wonderful earth to live. You also love your loveones by giving importance to those places they come from.Their are people who don't love and value the memories and the places where there loveones are from..I Salute you dear.
Thank you and I do love wonderful views. I find it fascinating remembering ones before us. I am glad you enjoyed it and have a wonderful day.
Your walks are always very interesting, this one in particular reminded you of your childhood and I learned a little more about you. I really liked your photos. A hug đ¤
I try to make them for fun, I love seeing where people are from, so try to make a walk how I would want to see on in a country I was visiting.
An Italian restaurant on a Scottish seashore is most unusual, but they for sure have the best view!
Those bathers must be longing for summer to be braving the waters like that, we have people doing the same here no matter the weather!
Lovely photo of the little bird taking shelter in the thorn bush.
I do hope you find time to visit the aquarium and share it with us. Are there meerkats in Scotland?
There are clubs that do swim outside in all weathers Lizzie! No fluffing way could I do that...
But yes there is an outdoor pool that I swam in as a kid that always seems to have at least one crazy person in there. You will see that next week hehe!
We don't have meerkats but they have been on a tv commercial your years and years...
Nice pictures, and a nice walk! Those construction guys take their time and charge a fortune. Never get done on time either... What a beautiful view of the beach and the ocean. I remember taking my son to the beaches here too, the good old days...
Yes it is a fun walk. Can see bits of it being the wednesday walk for the next month!
Oh yeah beaches are made for kids.
I don't know if I would swim at the beach in winter!!! The water must be freezing cold. Here we also have a marine museum that belongs to the University where I work. There are abyssal species, like a famous coelacanth. It was a fun ride, Ed! It's great to walk with you, because you are not only fun, you also know about history. hahaha. A big hug from the Caribbean Sea
Next week's post I will share someone actually in another outdoor pool about an hour later than these pictures!!!
It was cold enough in the summer let alone winter!
I am glad you like it Nancy, I try to make things fun, and our history can be fun too.
Ah give me the Caribbean Sea please hehe, A hug swimming over from the Firth of Forth.
This looks like another great walk. I'm always interested when there is a large body of water involved!
The water ends up in the North Sea so yes a pretty big body of water.

Steem? Blurt? Nah, just kidding! đ
I also think the same, as much as we want to go forward, we shouldn't destroy all of the past, so there can be a reminder of where we are coming from. As long as it isn't entirely destroyed, it deserves saving and preserving.
St. Andrews looks really beautiful, it's great to know that it was a part of your growing up.
Well said, too many times people now what to destroy the past and forget what has happened. That is a dangerous thing to do!
Yeah it is a pretty town, even in winter.
I want to see inside the aquarium also.đ. Hehehe. The gulls make me laughđ.
Yeah me too, one day I will take you inside! The gulls were funny, and they were so fluffing noisy!!!
Beautiful photos!
The birds are so adorableâ¤ď¸
They are cute right enough, thank you
I agree with Mrs T that sure looks like meccano to me
dang are we showing our age do they even still make it?
a nice walk full of memories
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
Hehe well when she said about the giant mecanno set I went to google and yes they do still make it in fact it is alive and thriving, and looks pretty cool what you can do with it now, loads of vehicles etc... https://www.meccano.com/en_gb/products
