Hello Hello Hivians, summer is great but every so often you have thunderstorms and lightning and rain ... tropical type rain where the heavens open!
I try to participate in the Wednesday Walk challenge most weeks. Today is no exception, although we are back to last Saturday for this walk.
As we needed to get some moisturiser creams from Aldi, apparently they have these dupes for £5 that work a charm and way cheaper than the original they are modelled on!
So it meant a wee walk to the local shop on Saturday. As you can see when we got to the park, the heavens had fluffing opened!
###These flowers ... they got me ... what the fluff were they?
See if you knew the answer, once we got to Aldi I googled lensed them!
The old real estate saying, where location is everything...
So these flowers are right at the inside entrance to our Aldi, you have to walk past them to go shopping....
Clever huh?
Well a cut one, the answer is Mrs T.
I think I have given her two bunches or bouquets of flowers in our near 30 years together.
Flowers wilt and die and that is sad. A plant lives and flourishes and is a much better gift or token of love in our household!
Right shopping done, the four square boxes on the conveyor belt were the whole reason for coming here!
2 day pots and 2 night pots. A bargain at £20!
Since we got rid of our car during Covid, I generally don't miss not having one.
However, this Mustang jumped out at me.
I used to have a Jaguar XJS Cabriolet as I am sure some of you who read Archie know about.
It went like shit off a shovel going 50 to 80.
This week car looked good and I know would have some kick to it.
The rain was easing off now, but you could see how it temporarily stains a wall and stonework!
Yes the rain had lessened to an acceptable level for picture taking!
Woohoo!
They really were the most gorgeous shade of blue.
Thanks to Google Lens
The image displays Delphiniums, specifically a variety like Delphinium elatum or Delphinium grandiflorum, known for their tall, vibrant blue flower spikes. These classic cottage garden perennials are popular for adding height and drama to borders.
The wall of flowers ...
... with some rather nice white tree peonies I believe!
Now the rain had slackened I had time to actually study these plants...
Gemini said that it's an upright herbaceous perennial with whorls of hooded, pale yellow flowers appearing on tall stems from late spring to early autumn. It also features large, soft, heart-shaped, silvery-green leaves.
To me they look a bit alien like, with those antenna type leaves on top of their heads...
Just look at them all lined up as if they are ready to march onto us!
The aliens are coming lol.
They really are gorgeous plants though!
I could see a fluffing castle in tealeaves I think, so can make pictures out of anything lol!
Baby Yoda with the pointy ears is here...
That was such an awesome song from The Vapors, mind you I can't recall any others off the top of my head!
Well this is a close-up of a Rosa rugosa, also known as a Rugosa Rose or Japanese Rose.
I do love water on flowers so thank you for the rain for that!
The rose with water droplets on its petals and leaves just gives it another gorgeous dimension!
I hope you enjoyed our little adventure!
This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

Those alien flowers are pretty. I like to admire flowers but I don't like to be given one nowadays. I don't like to watch it wilt and dry up and die😤😁.
Exactly and why they don't come into this house.
oohhhh, the flowers are gorgeous 😍.. love the Japanese rose.. so lovely..
the baby Yoda, hhmm😁.. took me a while to see it.
Hope you enjoyed your walk coz I enjoyed reading your post. ✌️😊
Thank you, it was a fun walk even if we got drenched. Baby Yoda hehe that's me and my imagination!
But the flowers really were gorgeous.
Those flowers are absolutely beautiful. I'm glad the heavens gave way and let you capture them sparkling with drops of water. I can almost smell their scent through the screen. Nice!
Well the heavens were kind and I got soaked too but some of the shots came out really well with the water droplets on them.
Their smells were lovely. Which reminds me of one your posts, Iwas going to say something when you mentioned about the flower would look in your hair :)
The roses were of perfect beauty. Haha the red flower might have bugs. I'm afraid it'll get into my ear.

even with rain such a nice walk, the fanciest car I ever owned has a Ford Capri GT, souped up to the max, my Stepsons brother in law has a Shelby Mustang sure is a nice ride
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
We needed some rain so I can't complain, although not the best time to walk when there is thunder and lightning too lol. That Shelby Mustang sounds a nice ride indeed.
Enjoy the rest of the week.
Those flower pictures look great.
Yeah he is a good photograper!
I loved this ride, Ed! I love it when it's raining and wetting the flowers and the weather is nice. I also love the smell of petricor (it is among my favorite smells in the world) You saw aliens and I saw butterflies and birds on a flower. It was only when I got a good look at the photos that I realized the flowers had some sort of wreath on them. I give you a Wednesday hug ;)
Oh yes petricor is a gorgeous smell. The park is my favourite place to get that smell of the earth once the rains arrive.
I think the aliens were doing the dancing in the rain lol! I give you a Thursday hug for your Wednesday hug as I am running behind again!
That is a pretty cool looking mustang! We have needed rain here really bad and I think it is finally going to happen for us in just a little bit here. Everything is starting to get quite brown and it isn't even July yet!
Yeah we don't really have mustangs here, and it was a beaut. We had such a dry first six months that we had hit brown, but luckily rains have started. I hope you get some soon.
Thanks, I am in northern Ohio right now and we are under a flood warning!

What a nice walk in the rain! You still got a lot of great pictures, and especially that Turkish sage. I've never heard of that one before, interesting. I guess now you could nickname it the baby Yoda ear flower... Google lens makes finding out what things are so much easier doesn't it? If only Google didn't track every tidbit of information of your life and sell it off for a profit... The evil side of the Google Corp!
That is a nice mustang, I'm too tall for them as with most sporty cars. Those of us who are too tall feel like we're in sardine cans in those things. That Jaguar must have been a sweet car, but I agree like is simpler without a car if you don't really need to own one. Here in California it's not an option, getting a Lyft or Uber to get around can get expensive.
Thanks for sharing those awesome pictures!
The pictures were great but the walk was a bit silly. Once the heavens opened there was a couple times we stopped and said shall we go home and come back the next day. But there could have been thunder and lightning that day too, so we just persevered and got it all done.
Google lens is awesome and hehe yes they know our life. I have long said that as soon as we connected to the internet they knew about us.
We are lucky we have a great public transport service, and yes there is a bit of inconvenience not jumping in the car and driving five minutes there. But I think it is us doing our bit for the planet. When we are in Florida though, then it is back to driving cars lol. I know what you mean about Uber prices over there.
