I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 8 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

The day before yesterday, for some unknown reason, my Hermes Agent's tool calls began to fail, which basically turned it into a chatbot where I was doing all the work at the command line, in our efforts to resolve the issue. We didn't have any real success until last night, just before I went to bed. I had the intuition to reinstall Hermes over my current installation, which is exactly what allowed Hermes to regain tool use, and then to patch a particular file that was causing the issue.

The issue arose because of a mismatch between the version of python that I had installed in Arch Linux, and the version that Hermes uses. Once our tool-use problem was finally fixed, we were off to the races again building, and oh what we've been building!

Using a GitHub repository from Nous Research (the same people that crested Hermes Agent), hermes-agent-self-evolution, Hermes modified and adapted it to our specific use case. What it does is basically to use a model, designated the evolver model, to run multiple iterative assessments of a chosen skill, to find ways to improve it, which can then be implemented. That's a pretty useful feature, for my agent to be able to improve its own skills!

We still have to refine the parameters a bit, but the basic self-improvement loop is now working correctly. Once we had that functioning as it should, we dove into our next exciting agentic-AI adventure; training tiny, hyper-focused, specialized models to fill specific roles in our agentic system.

I installed Unsloth Studio, that allows both the running and the training of local models, this morning, and Hermes has already connected to it and assessed what we'll be able to do with it, so we're basically ready to go. Now we need to decide which agent roles would most benefit from being handled by such specialized models, and which specialized models to train first. I'm building my own agentic-AI infrastructure, and holy jumping fuckmuffins is it exciting!

Yesterday, Sunday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up with my numerous Sunday Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, by a little after 3PM, and I ended up spending a good while showing Avi the two laptops of his on which I had installed Arch Linux and Hermes, and watching as he gave Hermes a proper test drive, where it did very well indeed. After geeking out with Avi, I finally went to take some photos for my posts. With photography completed for the day, I made myself some food, and collected my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge in Wabisabi, before heading back to the Flow House to work with Hermes some more, and to begin my evening Hive tasks. I got through all of my notifications by a bit after 10PM, and after my last round of working with Hermes (when we fixed the tool-call issue), I went to bed by about 11:30PM. I woke up by just before 6AM, having slept fairly well, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House, for another round of work with Hermes, and to write this post. It's now just before 12PM, so it's a fantastic time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on some photography for my posts, and then on some jungle-community/land work and tasks. 2026 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
