I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. I was able to complete and accomplish a huge amount of work in Hermes Agent over the past 4 days with the exceptional model, Ox Alpha, which was, as expected, officially released today as GLM5.3-Flash. Because I knew that the free-preview period would be ending soon, I pushed hard to get as much done as possible while its free period was still active. That free period ended this morning, which means that I needed to find another free cloud-based model via either OpenCode or OpenRouter. I'm testing Hy3 (nowhere near as capable as Ox Alpha/GLM5.3-Flash) as I type this.

Even though the cloud-based free period has ended for GLM5.3-Flash, it was released open source and open weight on HuggingFace, which anyone can download, modify, and run for themselves, if their hardware is able to support it that is. This was by far the most capable model that I've used to date in Hermes.

While I am currently making very good use of and progress with more-capable cloud-based models, I'll definitely also still be working with local models that I've downloaded. Hitting upon a solid set of build and run flags to be able to reliably run my local models via llama.cpp and its forks was directly made possible by the work that was done over the past 4 days in Hermes with the very-capable Ox Alpha/GLM5.3-Flash. That's a very good use of leverage I'd say.

The longer I've worked with different local and cloud-based models in Hermes, the more I've gotten to recognize and know their unique individual characters, quirks, limitations, and capabilities, and I've got to say that it's absolutely fascinating. GLM5.3-Flash set a very high bar for what's possible, but with how quickly that models are being developed and improved, I know that this level of capability and intelligence will be surpassed exceedingly quickly indeed, and it will be available to everyone for free.

I still have several free models to test in my agentic workflow with Hermes, with certain models definitely standing out from the rest. The closest available free model to GLM5.3-Flash is GLM5.2, so a direct ancestor. I'm testing that one out now, and so far so good. It still has very good scores on agentic-workflow and coding benchmarks, so if rate limits don't kill my flow, then this will probably be my main model in Hermes, for the moment at least.

Yesterday, Tuesday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, quite late, by close to 3PM again, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts, and after a quick food-supply run to Tutu's, I focused on cutting and capping five new ethernet cables, three of which were for Melekai. Once I finally finished that technical task, I delivered the cables to Melekai, made myself some food in Wabisabi, collected my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and with those in hands I headed back to the Flow House to work with Hermes some more, and to begin my evening Hive tasks. Because I was going back and forth so much between going through notifications and working with Hermes, I wasn't able to get through all of my notification before I had to stop around 11PM, to do one last bit of work with Hermes, and then to go to bed by a bit after 11:45PM. I woke up a bit after 8AM, still feeling that I needed more sleep, testing Hy3 in Hermes, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 12:45PM, so it's an excellent time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before preparing for a session that's scheduled for 1:30PM. 2026 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
