I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβš‘πŸ’₯πŸ”₯βœ΄οΈβœ³οΈβ‡οΈπŸ‘£πŸŒ±βœ¨πŸ€™

Warm greetings all! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

As I've mentioned a few times in these posts, I've been on-and-off working to get any of a handful of larger (for my laptop anyway) AI models running successfully on my laptop, to use with Hermes Agent. I've taken multiple breaks in this brain-frying process, as I tests and do battle with llama.cpp (and multiple forks) build and run flags, No Matter what I've tried, the llama-server (the LLM server) always ends up crashing in the end, hence my long breaks. Last night, however, I had a breakthrough with Hermes Agent that allowed me to continue my testing, but in a much more rapid, effective, and efficient way.

X.com is a goldmine of useful information, and for many reasons, and it was there that I heard about a new feature in Hermes Agent (it's also where I first discovered Hermes) last night, and one that was a game changer for me. Nous Portal, which is run by Nous Research, that created Hermes Agent, has a wide array of free and paid cloud-based models available for Hermes users, and in a quick and easy way. The new feature is basically takes an array of the free models and makes them available in Hermes by using one simple command, /model free, during a session.

I did that successfully last night, and it's been working brilliantly. The LLM provider that was auto-selected is OpenCode, which means that I'm using the mysterious anonymous model, Ox Alpha. The identity of this model was not known, but thankfully some AI techie sleuths on X were able to determine that the actual provider and model are Z.AI (Chinese) and either GLM5.3, or more likely the as-of-yet-released next version of GLM. This model has a near-frontier level of capability, rivaling the best closed-source corporate models, and for now at least, it's free.

With it hooked up to Hermes Agent, I gave it the task of researching and testing build and run flags in the various forks of llama.cpp for which I've cloned GitHub repositories, across the handful of models that I have downloaded, since my GPU was not being used by a local model, to find the best workable combinations for long agrntic workflows. It has been doing that, with my suggestions and input, since last night, and quite effectively I must say.

This very capable model will be available free for a week, but thankfully there is a pool of other powerful free models using this option in Hermes that can be used in its place. My main focus at the moment is to use this model with Hermes to get a set of build and run flags that consistently and reliably run my chosen local models for use with Hermes over long agrntic Workflows on my laptop. Once that has been accomplished successfully, I won't be giving up on using the free cloud-based models. Rather I'll spin up another agent profile to use with it, and I'll use two instances of Hermes, one with my local LLMs, and one with the free, cloud-based models. I quite like that idea, and I know that there are many very interesting and useful ways that I could set it up. I very much look forward to exploring that.

Hive-Divider-Green-Rounded-2.png

Yesterday, Friday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, by little after 2:30PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts, and then to a bit of sunbathing on the trampoline in the Peanut Lawn. Thankfully, I also remembered to do some session landry, something that I've been meaning to do for a while now. Aside from some simple electrical work and testing, I mostly relaxed yesterday, and took photos. I went to Wabisabi in the early evening to make myself some food, and to collect my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, then I headed back to the Flow House to scan my X feed a bit more, and to begin my evening Hive tasks. I had a lot of notifications last night, and between responding to them, and working with Hermes, I wasn't able to get through all of my notifications before I had to stop by around 10:45PM, to do a bit more focused work with Hermes, and then to go to bed by just before 11:45PM. I woke up just before 7AM, still feeling that I still needed a bit more sleep, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 1:15PM, so it's quite a good time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on some photography for my posts, and then on some jungle-community/land work and tasks. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's edition of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

2026 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
