I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! πππβ‘π₯π₯β΄οΈβ³οΈβοΈπ£π±β¨π€

Warm greetings all! πππβ¨π€
In a few previous posts I've mentioned that I had just recently successfully converted/migrated the first of my three separate Arch Linux installations into Artix Linux, and that I've been troubleshooting issues that I've been having using the dinit init system with the dinit-user-spawn or turnstile session managers, in place of Arch Linux's default systemd. Other people have been having similar problems, basically because the different parts of the system are not communicating with other parts of the system, and the various parts that systemd managed now have to be managed by individual services, and they don't always work well together without certain configuration changes.

The benefit of using systemd is that it ties many parts of the system together into a functional whole, so everything just tends to work, the downside is that it kind of takes control of everything, which often requires manual intervention if you want to create your own custom system flow. I was generally fine with systemd, and I definitely appreciated how easily it made for the whole system to function as a whole out of the box, but the direction that this FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) project has begun to take is disturbing enough to me to find another option.

The beauty of Linux is that it is massively more flexible, configurable, and customizable than Windows or MacOS, so there are always many ways to accomplish a particular tech goal or task, both using GUI (Graphical User Interface) tools, and/or using the command line. More is generally possible using the command line, however, which is why learning and familiarizing ourselves with its use is exceedingly advantageous, because it gives us more fine-tuned control over our system.

Since I've been having issues with getting dinit to work correctly for user sessions with both of the available service managers in Artix Linux, dinit-user-spawn and turnstile, I'm about to begin some experimentation in circumventing the need for a session manager or a login manager at all, using a code snippet in my user .bash_profile file, that will become active as soon as my system boots, and the creation and editing of one small .xinitrc file in my home directory, even with some sweet ASCII art on the tty login screen. I didn't test it this morning because I have a session scheduled for today, and I still had to write this post, so there just wasn't sufficient time.

I did clone/backup the Artix installation that I'm presently using as I began writing this post, however, to get ready for more techy tinkering afterward, just in case things go horribly awry. So hopefully I'll have some time after the session, and after making myself some food, to give this command-line login that goes straight to my GUI desktop, a go. This will completely eliminate the need for both a session manager and a login manager, making the process flow much simpler and quicker. The deeper that I go into learning and understanding the clay that is Linux, the more capable I become at molding and sculpting it into exactly what I need or want it to be, and with elegance, flare, and style.

Yesterday, Thursday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, by around 2:45PM again, giving my attention to some photography for my posts first, to a few small jungle-community tasks, and then taking a quick break up at the Flow House, before going to the other side of the property to plant several chacruna plants (the DMT source for the ayauasca brew) with Melekai along the forested trail leading up to her place. We got a lot done in quite a short amount of time, after which I traversed the property again, to take a shower, turn on the generator, make myself some food (a spiced-and-seasoned beef burger, on olive-oil-toasted sourdough, with pepperjack and aged cheddar cheeses, hot sauce, and spicy brown mustard) in Wabisabi, and with that and my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee in hands, finally to head back to the Flow House to begin my evening Hive tasks. I got through all of my notifications by just after 10PM, and after some asset management, reading various threads in the Artix Linux forums, and scanning my X feed, I went to bed by just after 12:30AM, again. I woke up about 6AM, having slept reasonably well, going to make my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House to do a bit more techy research, cloning my present Artix Linux installation, then beginning on this post. It's now just after 12PM, so it's an excellent time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before preparing for my session that's scheduled for 1:30PM. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's version of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! πππβ¨π€

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! πππβ¨π€

There will be more ALIVE pools coming soon!

This is our collaboratively shared Witness node between the We Are Alive Tribe, and @borniet's and my MMB (Maximum Mutual Benefit) Project, here to build something good for all of us! The higher in the witness ranking we go, the more that we'll be able to grow the We Are Alive Tribe, and the more that we'll be able to share with all of you!

If you appreciate what we're doing with the We Are Alive Tribe, and feel inspired and motivated to lend a hand in building and growing our decentralized community economy and financial framework, which benefits all of us, community conntributions/donations/investments may be sent to our 'We Are Alive Tribe Sovereign Wealth Investment Fund' account, @waat-swif. They're deeply appreciated, and are put to very good use.

Bjorn is our badass coder who hosts and manages our (and also Bradley's) community backends, he creates all sorts of useful tools, and he assists people all over the Blockchain constantly. He redefines the term 'busy'!

Bradley's tenaciously committed and all-in on Hive for the long haul (just like me!), and the higher his witness goes in the ranking, the higher the weekly BBH and BBHO dividend payouts will be!
