I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβš‘πŸ’₯πŸ”₯βœ΄οΈβœ³οΈβ‡οΈπŸ‘£πŸŒ±βœ¨πŸ€™

Warm greetings all! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Yesterday was a whirlwind Sunday of Hive and technical computer work, and I was so focused and engaged in what I was doing that I barely left the Flow House at all in the whole day. While that's not a common occurrence, sometimes I just need a day for myself, to do what inapires and motivates me the most.

Another laptop came into my possession a few days ago, and one that's a fair bit better than the new one that I just bought to replace the last one that died. I'm just going to say that it's pretty wild some of the things that pop up in the jungle. Since this newly acquired Lenovo Legion 5 Pro has better hardware specs than my new Dell G5, I decided to switch to it as my main computer, and to use my Dell to experiment with FreeBSD (another Unix-like operating system, both similar to, and quite different from, Linux).

It took me a little troubleshooting to get my Arch Linux installations to boot properly on the new computer, but in the end I was successful, and exactly because I could devote a good bit of time to it. I used a smaller spare NVMe SSD to put in my Dell for installing FreeBSD, which was a little easier than installing Arch Linux.

I've been wanting to explore FreeBSD for a while now, but without a second computer, that idea had to hang out on the shelf for a while. Now that a second laptop has unexpectedly come into the picture, however, it's go time. I actually ended up installing FreeBSD twice yesterday, as I made a mistake the first time, with the second installation going smoothly, very thankfully. I do still have to install a proprietary ethernet driver to get my ethernet connection working with it, but thankfully wifi is working.

I'm not sure yet exactly how I'm going to use FreeBSD, but given it's incredible flexibility, I'm sure that I'll find some cool use for it. As y'all know, I'm deeply passionate about sovereignty and community-driven technologies like Hive, Qortal, Blurt, Bastyon, Arch Linux (and Linux in general), and FreeBSD (along with all the other BSD variants), among several others, and as I dive in deeper, and realize what's possible in each framework, that passion only grows. I need more techy friends with whom to play!

Yesterday, Sunday, as mentioned above, was devoted completely to Hive, Arch Linux, and FreeBSD, so I was up at the Flow House for the vast majority of the day. I finally started on my evening Hive tasks, and catching up on my notifications, a little after 6PM. I had a lot, and with splitting my attention between Hive, Arch, and FreeBSD, I wasn't able to get fully caught up on notifications before I had to stop around 10:30PM, to do more asset management, and to research into two more technical issues with Arch and FreeBSD, before finally making myself to to bed, way too late, around 12:45AM. I woke up about 7:30AM, still feeling that I needed more sleep, doing more asset management, getting out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write and publish My 160th Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update: 10,000 HP Surpassed, and Steady Growth Across the Board!, and then to start immediately on this post. It's now just before 1:15PM, so a great time to end this post, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a bit later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography (I really hope that it stops raining), and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's edition of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

2025 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

You are quite expert in technological and computer-ish aspect as well! Awesome!

Good to hear that you got a good laptop!

Thank you so much, brother, and I've learned a lot over the years as I dove more deeply into various aspects of technology. Getting into Linux helped a lot with that, because to use it and the hardware on which it ran well, I had to learn them well. I just learn how to do things by diving in and figuring it out for myself. That's true in technology, as well as every other domain of life.

Many thanks again, my friend! It felt like an answer to a prayer! 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™
