The old-age plan

Talking about retirement "Little story" in my part of the world there are certain people we call "civil servants" Now, these aren't really servants per se when you think about it but then the term refers to people who work under the state government where they reside or their state of origin. These civil servants enjoy certain privileges compared to those working in the private sector. That is why most of the time you would hear people say "I want to get a government job" One of the privileges is the fact that "there is job security" The moment you get a government job it's until retirement.

Nobody has the veto power to fire you or sack you rather "now these words mean the same thing right? Just pardon me" Now some of these civil servants plan their retirement while others who feel like they can't retire "the omi liveth". I've seen and heard stories of civil servants who, during their stay in office, didn't plan for retirement. So the moment they retire they become a burden to those around them especially their children.

There is one woman and her husband that I look up to, they are both retired, but they still send money to their children including me. Often I would see credit alerts from them. Now those are couples who plan for their retirement and are looking at everything working perfectly for them. In my part of the world where people get scared of retirement and would go as far as reducing their age so they can stay longer in office. Have you seen a forty-five-year-old man looking like someone in his seventies "well it happens in my nation".

Retirement isn't supposed to hurt right? That is the time of our lives when we get to relax and live our positions for the younger generation. So when we look back, we would be like "I served here" and my time here was so fruitful. How many ex- civil servants can boast of something tangible after leaving office "well just a few" and that is why the big thing comes into play and that is "planning" without good planning the world won't go as planned.

Even though some don't go the way we want them to but then we notice something and that is the fact that sometimes the plans are likely to go smoothly but with a little different occurrence coming into play. Now let me answer the question "if I were to retire today what would be my plan".

No doubt nobody gets to work forever even when we try, we will be forced to resign. I believe retirement plan is a proactive process of setting my financial goals now this is the major thing "finances" and estimation of future expenses that are likely to arise and accumulating assets that will enable me to maintain my desired lifestyle when employment ends today.

The key step I'm going to employ is start saving early because "planning early brings good results" Take that from me. Then I'm going to live within my earnings and not bite more than I can chew. Another thing I'm going to do is free myself from any debt to enable me focus more on my income.

Talking about getting bored, I will engage in my hobbies and add more to the list so I can be active while being in a state of unemployment.

Wow! This is so interesting. These people are actually challenging me because sending you money from what they have saved is very great. Unlike some people when they have retired, they will keep telling you that we don't have anything, please help us with anything you have.
Thanks for sharing

There are many civil servant who don't make any plans towards their retirement, they often end working even harder after retirement.
