Reality shows are one of the numerous forms of entertainment humans create to spice up our days, and I must say that I do find some of them really interesting, especially those that kickstart the trend in this part of the world. Those reality TV shows I first knew were based on talents and intellectual capacity, such as Project Fame, Gulder Ultimate Search, Nigeria Idol, and Maltina Dance All, amongst many others. Those were days when reality TV shows weren't only entertainment but also educational and inspiring, but nowadays we've had reality TV shows introduce aspects of wealth, relationships, and the like, which has watered down my interest in reality shows in general, and below I'll be talking about if I think they should be banned or left to continue.

To be honest, like I said earlier, I not only enjoyed reality TV shows back in the day, but I also love them and often look forward to their next episode and seasons, because I love to see people display their talent and get rewarded for it or establish themselves in that field. It even goes on to motivate me as well in different aspects and makes me want to do more and stand out for something. Unfortunately the reverse is the case in our society today. The majority of the popular reality TV shows we have are to me useless and irrelevant. Most of these guys have no talent, nor do the shows promote anything reasonable that can influence society positively.
Instead, what we get are negative influences that affect not just adults, but also youth and teens morally. In light of this, I personally think reality TV shows such as those based on relationships, beauty, and the like should be scrapped. I mean what the value they add to the society other than showing their nakedness, displaying unruly behaviour on the TV and making it seems like it's the right way to go for the young generation coming behind others, who mostly see validation from the society and believes whatsoever a celebrity does is the right way to go. We deserve better and I think to get what we deserve, such reality TV shows should be banned.

A few months ago I remember seeing a scene from Big Brother Naija go viral on the internet, even though it was a scene that showed inappropriate things being done by the participants of the show, and before you know it, I start seeing a trend of teens and TikTokers reacting to the scene in their own way, showing all in their bid for validation and following the trend. And that's why I see reality TV shows such as these as a plague to our society and world at large, and the only solution to save and restore moral uprightness into our society is to first outrightly ban these reality TV shows, secondly advise our youth on the right way to go, and then introduce TV shows that promote creativity, skills, talent, and intellectual capability.
That's about it on my take on issues relating to reality shows based on relationships and beauty and why I said so.
