One of the basic knowledge an average human should possess is on first aid treatment knowledge, which can play a huge role in saving lives during an accident. There are turns of things one can do when procuring first aid treatment for an individual, such as performing CPR or managing a bleeding wound, before actually performing pretreatment on an individual before they're attended to by a doctor. Do I have this knowledge? How much of it do I have that can be instrumental during an incident? Below I'd talk about that and other matters that revolve around it.
Growing up, I've been privileged to watch lots of movies that show how first aid is being administered to a person when it involves treating a bleeding wound or performing CPR and several others, and I can say for a fact that those movies have at least given me some instinct on how first aid can be administered to someone even though I didn't learn it in person. And with the knowledge of what I saw in those movies, I believe I'll be able to perform some first aid treatment on individuals who are victims of an accident or incident, depending on what kind of first aid treatment they need.
If I'm being truthful, it's worth noting that I've never been under a teaching or training that teaches about first aid. I know how important it is and the important role it can play in the lives of those around me whom I saw were in danger and could help if I had the valuable knowledge of first aid. While I don't have that knowledge, it's worth noting that even though I don't have that knowledge, I at least have seen others administer it in my presence, both in person and in movies, and I think if I were to find myself in a situation relating to some of those once.
Take for instance I've seen how first aid is applied to someone who is bleeding, whereby they even tied the top of the place to prevent more blood from flowing through that place, and also first aid administered to someone who was bitten by a snake. We all know how poisonous snakes are and how fast their venom travels around the human system, so I know first aid is first tying the upper part of the part the snake bit to prevent its venom from flowing, and also making sure the bitten body part is below the heart level.
As a teacher I've administered first aid to some of my students who were involved in minor incidents within the school premises by helping them clean the cut or wound spot with sprite and clean cotton wool, also covering it with the cotton wool or a plaster to prevent infections or expose the spot to dangers, after which we tend to transport such students to a medical facility for proper treatment.
I understand the importance of having first aid knowledge, and I'm willing to learn it any time an opportunity shows up, especially because I work around kids and will have some of my own in the near future and won't want to be caught off guard peradventure a need for first aid knowledge shows up.
