Murals and paintings are beautiful pieces of art that are used to beautify our surroundings, homes and community at large; they are also instrumental in passing on information due to the kind of things painted in them. And these bring us to the issue of free speech. We all know everyone clamours for freedom of speech so they can say anything. But then we can't forget the fact that even though there's freedom of speech, we must be ready to take responsibility for what we say or the kind of messages we pass across, even with our paintings or murals as artists.

We all know there are divers ways to pass messages across and it doesn't have to be through speaking alone, our writing words, paintings, and the likes also forms on of the ways we can pass a message and when you paint something in a public space that seems inappropriate, we must be ready to take responsibility of whatsoever such paintings or mural cause to the general public. Imagine painting something that seems to target another race, and then those sets of people pick offence in it. You can't say it's just a drawing or painting, because you know you're not doing the right thing by putting that where it is.
What do I have to say about paintings and murals that seem out of place because of the kind of messages they carry? Well it's the fact that should be taken down, and not be encouraged, we as Individual must learn to consider others before we take some actions, as humans you should first test yourself with the kind of thing you want to put out there, how would you feel if others does same to you? So learn to put decent murals out there that pass a beautiful message, not those that pass the wrong one.
Also you can't say such doesn't affect people or hurt them, because not all pain are physical, murals that passes negative messages can affect an individual negatively and take deteriorating effect on their mental health, thereby leading to different forms of issues that could even lead to their death and the likes. So you can't say I didn't necessarily hurt them physically, because your message via the mural has spoken louder than you could possibly do, and that has taken devastating effects on these people.

You can't just draw anything and not be ready. To face the repercussion of what you drew, which has taken a negative effect on others. And that's why I stand with the fact that paintings that are inappropriate should be banned and people who paint them should be made to face the repercussions of what they drew. Because these paintings can cause lots of damage to people, and that's why we must learn to do things responsibly, regardless of where we find ourselves and the law that seems to be on our side.
That's about it on my take on this subject matter, what do you think and how do you think such should be handled? Kindly share your opinion with me in the comments section.

Harms caused on mental health are the worse so we must not only be mindful of the physical effects of our actions alone. I support as well that laws should be put in place, putting things to order and bringing every negative painters to book
