When War Begins, Survival Becomes the Mission

The first idea that will always come to my mind whenever I hear about war is safety. I respect those armies willing to fight in war, but I'm not joining the army or advising those I love to join the army, because the impact of a war is always on the battlefield and soldiers are always the first victims during war.
What's important to me is survival and safety.

Gathering my family and loved ones and seeking safety together is what's important to me, protect ourselves from bullets, the enemies and many other dangers associated with war. Big respect and honor to those who will volunteer to join the army. That's so much courage and boldness. I respect and admire them for their courage, but personally, at that point, what's important to me is survival, surviving with my family, searching for safety and protection.

I have never experienced war, but I have watched historical movies about wars, and it's not what we should pray or seek for. War causes a lot of destruction.

There was a time I experienced a crisis in my environment, which led to gun shots and other chaotic situations and all I could think about was safety. I didn't even try to protest with others because I knew protest could also endanger my life. All I did was to find protection with my family. We all protected ourselves at home and even at that we were still scared. I kept hearing gunshots and hearing the bad experiences of others, I had nightmares throughout that week.

It was just a conflict within my community, not as bad as a war, and I was so traumatized. It led to gunshots, and I couldn't sleep and was restless while protecting my younger siblings. Then what will a war experience be like?

War definitely will be more dangerous and frightening, survival needs to be prioritized.
Going for or becoming an army officer is an exposure to many harms and risks, which include stray bullets, bombing, injury and even death.
To avoid a sad fate, it's better to shield myself and my family. Not everyone is meant and built to fight war.

The first step I will take to properly ensure safety and survival for my family is to relocate my entire family to a safe zone and, if relocating is impossible due to the war in different regions around me, I will look for a way to make the place I find myself safe for every one of us, find a safe place within my region. After ensuring that I find safety, the next step is feeding, because if war doesn't kill , hunger and thirst will. I will try as much as I can to store enough food and water.

Not to forget medicine, medicine for illnesses like cold, cough, catarrh, stomach ache, allergies, malaria, typhoid and many more. Gathering medicine because in most of the war movies I have watched it's always the hospitals that's the major targets of the enemies during war.

Moments like this, it's also very important to keep up with communication and get information from the outside world. That's why I will have a radio for information and a sustainable device meant for calls.

Having to communicate with patriotic citizens who volunteer to stay outside and fight is very necessary . A radio for daily news and updates to know when to leave my current location for the next.

Lastly, I will find weapons for self-defense and give them to everyone around me, because not being amongst the army doesn't prevent me from harm either.

I'm obligated to protect those I love. That's my first duty. I respect patriotic citizens who choose to fight a war and hope I have the courage and power they possess. The best that I can do is protect those I love.
