The Sweetness Trap: Sweetness with Deadly Consequences.

Sugar have it risk and damages to the body, but we can't take away the fact that it's a good source of energy , it helps the brain to function and does many other good things, the major issue with the intake sugar is the quantity, excessive sugar is really dangerous to the body and that's why sugar needs to be regulated and not banned.
Considering the health risk of excessive sugar intake on kids and adults, I agree there should be a regulation, same way there's a regulation on alcohol.
If alcohol is being regulated because of the obvious health risk and effect, then sugar shouldn't be exempted, because excessive sugar is also harmful to our body.

We consume sugar daily and the quantity of sugar intake is mostly unknown to us, there's sugar in our bread, biscuits, snacks and drinks, it's in almost in snacks and meal we consume and we aren't even aware of the percentage or quantity we consume daily, unlike alcohol where the percentage of Alcohol in a particular product or brand is boldly written on the label or body and that have helped in preventing excessive intake.
It's really going to be best that every product that's being produced with sugar should give an information on the percentage or quantity of sugar that's utilized in the production or preparation, be it bread, biscuits, snacks , drinks, ice creams and many others. Sugar should be strictly regulated to reduce the rate of diabetes, heart diseases and many others health risk.

It's almost inevitable to eat regularly without taking sugar, our snacks, cereals, drinks and bread are made with sugar, it's an essential ingredient for baking but sugar could be replaced with honey, natural sweeteners, and many other sources of sweetness.
Also these are meals that's majorly consumed by kids and young teenagers, this is why it needs to be regulated strictly.
When kids keep consuming excessive sugar we know the health factors and consequences it could cause on the health of children , like alcohol does to people
This is why it should be avoided by a strict regulation and an effort to limit the use of sugar in meals meant for kids and young teenagers.
The cost of treating illness related to excessive sugar intake is large and should be avoided at all cost, plus the risk of death or amputation.

Overtimes, I have purchased snacks that I find extremely sugary, the first thing I will always do is check the sachet or label to read about the ingredients and I believe there's little or no transparency in the details given about the ingredients used in preparing the snacks.
A strict regulation by healthcare agencies on the excessive use of sugar will also encourage transparency and truthfulness in those details given.
Actions like this will save lives and prevent sicknesses that are caused by excessive sugar consumption.
It's really good that we have an honest knowledge about the snacks and drinks we consume, an honest detail will save people from health risk and effects.
With a proper investigation this could be achieved.

Sugar could have it own risk and damages to the body like I stated in the beginning of my post, but we can't take away the fact that it's also beneficial to us. Sugar should only be regulated and not banned.
Also as individual who are responsible for our well being we should also use sugar wisely and not excessively , prevent carbonated drinks and focus primarily on making fruit juices and herbal drinks , for baking one could use a substitute for sweetness.

Yes sugar should be regulated not banned. And it's true we need to regulate how much of sugar should also consume in their body because too much of sugar intake is very risky.

It's really a trap oo because some of us have become sugar addicts, lol. The truth is that sugar can become very dangerous to the general wellbeing of a person if not minimized. Everyone should try to read through the labels of some of the products they consume and the Foood and Drugs Agencies should ensure transparency in the details of the ingredients as you have mentioned.
