As a lover of technology, I love and support self driving cars becoming the mainstream in our society, but a society like mine is not prepared for it yet.
It has its advantages, like the comfort and convenience it gives, and many more benefits, but it also has some disadvantages, especially in a society that doesn't have what it takes to adopt and utilize certain technology.

Self-driving cars depend on electricity and good network to function accurately and that's a major problem in my society.
The network could limit the performance and potential of a self driving car in many ways.
More often, we battle with bad networks while traveling through certain routes in the rural and urban areas, due to the fact that most of these routes or roads suffer from bad network too. A self driving car will need a good network and GPS to function to its full potential, the chance of getting into an accident due to bad network is high and possible.
Poor network could also affect the map of the car. A self driving car depends on road map and poor network could make the car lose access to road map and directions. Give a wrong lead or direction.
Weak network could affect the function of the car in many ways, limit it full potential and performance in countless ways.

Before self driving cars become a mainstream car in a society like mine, then certain criteria need to be met, not just network.
The road needs to be worked on and fixed, because the poor road and bad infrastructure would really affect a self driving car in my society.
The road needs to be fixed before my society starts utilizing self driving cars.
Relying on technology on a road that is full of potholes, bad mapping, failed infrastructure and poor driving system could cause more harm than expected.
Relying on a self driving car in a busy road without the fear of accident or unforeseen occurrence is obviously an overdependent on technology.
Just imagine a road that is full of different cars and people, including the crazy and drunk drivers, and being too comfortable and relaxed, feeling so safe and sure of protection. That's so much dependent on technology and that's a disadvantage.
The sensor could fail, the system could be hacked, and a malfunction in the system that could lead to accidents. Total dependence on technology could cause more harm than good. Technology can also fail us, depending on technology could cause harm.
It could also lead to loss of jobs, especially for licensed drivers, and that's a problem for the society.

And when preventable accidents occur, who pays for it? The owner of the car, the manufacturer, or the car itself?
This part of this prompt is quite complex, but to be balanced, I believe when there's an accident the cause of the accident is being traced.
For instance, if the owner of a self driving car has always seen a warning sign or failed to maintain the car when it should be maintained. Then the owner should pay for it. If the accident is traced to be due to the owner's negligence, they should pay for the accident.
The manufacturer isn't free from blame either, because most times accident can occur from the manufacturer and if the accident is traced back to the manufacturer, maybe due to software and hardware damage or defects, then the manufacturer should pay for the accident
The car can't pay 😅, that's impossible. It is really funny to expect payment from the car at this point.
The payment should be either the manufacturers, owner and the insurance company.
Self driving cars are great innovations in developed societies, but in a society like mine we have alot to fix before utilizing self driving cars.
Such vehicle we need a strong technology to control it
Wow, this is difficult, and if something goes wrong we could be in serious trouble
