MARRIAGE IS A PERSONAL DECISION, THAT HAS NO AGE LIMITATION.

The appropriate age range for marriage, legally is 18 in my country, but to me it doesn't sit right, although it worked out during the past generations, due to some stories I have heard.
I'm of the opinion that an 18years isn't fully ready or equipped for marriage, but yet it remains a personal decision, that should only be influenced when necessary.

I agree that there should be an age range within which people should be permitted to get married, but definitely not 18years to me, I'm of the opinion that 23 and above would be more appropriate and ideal for marriage.
An 18 years old , is yet to discover their identity, still confuse , trying to navigate life and doesn't have or yet to build a career .
They are yet to grow mentally and emotionally strong and also there's a possibility of regrets due to immaturity and confusion.

When it has to do with age gap between the male and female, I tend to admire couples with little age gap, for instance ; when the man is five to six years older than the lady , but then age is just a number like we say and yes, it's not a major criteria in selecting a partner, so to me it doesn't matter if he is less than 5years older than me , but he should definitely be older than me.
At the end of the day, what really matters is compatibility, mutual respect, love and understanding.

Also, choosing a spouse from same age bracket can be quite interesting and admirabe, and that because of how you ralate and understand each other better due to similar stages in life, shared knowledge as it has to do with your generations, for example ; when both couples are "Gen Z's " they will definitely vibe .
When they share common interest in movies, musics , jobs , same idealogy in raising kids and laugh to similar jokes .

Till date, I feel getting married to an older partner, might be really inconveniencing and less compatible, due to different ideology and view of life.
Also , it's natural for you to get appropriate care and provision from an older partner, especially for females, but then it feels incomplete, because you really can't relate as friends or buddies due to age differences , relating and communicating can only be possible when one spouse chooses to learn and adapt.
What's funny to a girl in her 20's , might be a threat to a man in his 30's or 40's.

The choice of getting married to a man or woman who's ten years older is a personal choice , if it sits right with you, then it's cool.
There's nothing wrong with marrying an older partner,if there's understand, respect , love and compatibility .
Most people believe, especially the females ,that marrying an older partner create financial freedom, you get better guidance and care from your partner, and also maturity and better understanding.
And to some ladies, it's not option, due to health degradation and possibility of health burdens.

Creating a rule that couples should be of same age bracket is going to create chaos, because it's going to limit choices , it's very partial and create room for secret and illegal affairs.
Love is a personal decision and everyone is free to love who they want to love, there should be no age restrictions or societal rules .
Love is really deep, deeper than what we see on the surface, so creating a rule to tell people who to love will create chaos, an unending chaos.
Creating such rule is unnecessary, people chose who they love.

Age is just a number, the major criteria for marriage should be compatibility, love, mutual respect, shared value and mutual understanding.
