Lie Of Omission Is An Act Of Deception And Shouldn't Be Justified.
There are so many reasons people justify lie of omission, in most cases they say it's for the protection of the victims , some claim it's for privacy and confidentiality reasons, and many other different opinions.
In my opinion, we always have a choice to pass an information or keep it to ourselves, instead of passing an information that will decieve a person or create a false thought , it's better you keep silent and don't send such information.
Regardless of the defenses, lie of omission is an outright lie and it doesn't protect anyone, instead it's being used in favour of the manipulator or liar.
If you can't give a straight and accurate information , then don't pass the information, a lie remains a lie , regardless of your defense.
Lie of omission is misleading and an obvious act of manipulating another person's believe and thought, it's also an obvious denial from the truth.
Outright lie and lie of omision are both dangerous.
To those who claim, , that lie of omision is for protection, how long do they think they can hide the truth and how will the victim feel after realizing there were being deceived and given a false thought .
Lie of omision , like an outright lie clearly leads to lack of trust and intergrity and also a change in peoples attitude towards you.
Some years ago , when I lost my uncle to the cold hands of death, most persons suggested they hide his death from his mom, considering how she loved him and she won't be able to handle it, every day she asked and prayed for him thinking he was still ill.
Knowing he was already dead, it hurts me to see her think he was alive. They all said she wouldn't be able to handle it, but a serious case like death cannot be hidden forever.
Not until, she insisted on paying a visit to the hospital.
It was at this moment they told her about the death, when she was told about the death of her son, the betrayal she felt was so obvious, that she became aggressive and felt hurt, that she refused anyone from consoling her.
You don't protect people by not telling them the truth, rather you lose your values as a person and hurt those who trust you , lie hurts the most when it comes from a love one.
In most cases people who justify lie of omission, do so to cover up their lapses or more serious information especially in work places, I really don't see a good reason to mislead and decieve a person, everyone deserves to know the truth and lie hurts so much .
Lie of omission is a deception and manipulative act, it's as dangerous as an outright lie and should be treated as an outright lie .
They all have similar effects on their victims, they both mislead and manipulate people's thought, they are false narratives , and shows lack of intergrity.
The hurt that comes from an outright lie is actually more painful than a lie of omision, but we can all agree that both are dangerous and an act of deception and should be avoided at all cost.
Being truthful doesn't cost much and being truthful protect our integrity.
Say No To Lie Of Omission And Outright Lie, They Are Dangerous.
