Invisibility in an Era Full of Digital Surveillance
We all know there are good reasons people decide to stay anonymous and their decision to remain anonymous should be respected, but that doesn't mean they are invisible or unseen in our current world, the digital world has provided surveillance and unseen eyes and that's why it's almost impossible to stay anonymous or invisible.
We are currently in a world where you could be traced by your IP address and other important details, our data is being shared and we are even restricted to use certain apps without switching on our location and a compulsory face screen.
We work daily with computers, phones, use the online banking and give out data when necessary, these are ways certain information about people are being known or exposed to certain people and could only be used when necessary and all these makes it difficult to be invisible in this time and era, unless one decide to be without a phone or be absent in the digital space.
One can only be anonymous to certain people, but not everyone , this is 21st century and the digital world has made certain things possible and also impossible .
Considering the surveillance in our digital world, being anonymous is only possible to a few , but a total invisibility is impossible and unrealistic.
Even with the use of VPN, burner emails, unidentified accounts and many other tools that could be used to hide location and details, I feel there will be trace left.
The digital space is fast rising and humans are also getting smarter and informed, it's also possible to achieve invisibility with most tools, but that requires carefulness and good attention to details.
Our current world is full of invisible eyes, we have surveillance even in the comfort of our homes, our information is being tracked, data being shared and a little trace could give out a thousand information about a person.
Hiding in the keyboard is almost unattainable, especially when your purpose of being anonymous isn't a good one.
Because if the right person decides to find you, they will achieve that.
One could be anonymous, but yet be made visible to people who are eager to find them.
It's impossible to have a close relationship with the Internet and be totally invisible , in a world where we are always using your phone, browsing, utilizing the media, shopping, sharing data, leaving details and many other things, and still assume to be an unseen .
You could say you are a private person or one who keeps a low profile, that's fair enough, but being totally anonymous or invisible to everyone is almost impossible.
Being anonymous isn't always about being faceless like we think, you could achieve hiding your identity and being anonymous to certain people, but not to everyone.
I believe there are personnel who investigate the identity of a person when necessary, but it only get to this point when the person is wanted, apart from that the choice to be anonymous isn't condemned.
If a person decides to be anonymous for a reason best known to them and also a positive reason, they have the liberty.
There are countless reasons people choose to to keep a low profile, stay private and stay anonymous.
