Human Adaptability: Thriving in Unfamiliar Environments

This prompt made me to wonder how, throughout history, men migrated from one place to another. These men adapted and built a new world. Despite how unfamiliar a place might be, these men embraced new culture, adapted to new environments and managed their resources.

This tells alot about humans, their characteristics to adapt, and they can always start a new life everywhere they find themselves, even in strange places. Their ability to learn survival skills, even when there's a threat or danger in that new environment or place. They learnt to survive by observing, acquiring new knowledge and learning about the cosmos of wherever they find themselves, for the purpose of survival.

As a human, with the ability to adapt and survive, if I'm surprisingly or suddenly left in a strange land with zero support, I will adapt and try to survive, because that will be my only option. The ability to stay and survive in that strange land is definitely by adapting, applying skills, intelligence and the willingness to start from somewhere and learn. Definitely, this will be uneasy at the early stages.
Survival in a new place isn't always easy, but I believe with time and more knowledge it's going to get better in that strange land.

Knowledge and adaptation will be very valuable at a time like this. The major fear and difficulty will definitely be on the first few days, because survival in a strange and unfamiliar place isn't just going to affect one physically, but also mentally and psychologically. It takes time to be convinced that I'm safe and free from danger in that environment, and I also learn how to converse with the people in that environment and understand society, their values, beliefs and superstitions. In this kind of stage, all I will need is to be open to new knowledge, try to be stable and build communication skills.

When I feel convinced that I have learnt to survive in a new environment, I will focus on the basic ways I have learnt to survive the past week in a strange environment. If the environment is functioning, I will look for a way to earn and labour for survival, look for problems to solve to provide for myself, look for a safe community to build connections and keep learning to communicate in my new world. There would definitely be opportunities to work and survive, make ends meet; it could be work, render some required services in the environment and solve people's problems. Services like this will help provide some necessities for survival, like a shelter, food and daily income, before I start making big moves. There's a place of little beginning, and in situations like this, I just have to start little before taking a big step. At this stage, I need to practice humility and avoid being boostful.

Growth is part of humanity. After my survival steps, I will dive into acquiring a particular skill or an education. These could happen within few months. Learn a skill that would solve the problems of those in that environment, and build myself to be good at that particular skill. With these skills, I will build a consistent income, sort a problem in that environment and build relationships that make me better.

Adaptation isn't so easy and there would be unforeseen circumstances like setbacks, the search for opportunities, sickness, or even slow progress. It might take longer time to survive, maybe six to eight months. What's important is the ability to keep striving to survive.
