Most people fail to realize that it's important to live a healthy life, they fail to understand the important of priotizing their health, it's our full responsibility to prioritize your health and be mindful of every medication we take .
The issue of drug resistance can be avoided to a large extent, it's not just a biological issue, but also an issue caused by most human due to ignorance.
One of the major causes of drug resistance is self medication, constant abuse of drugs like antibiotics, pain reliefs like ibuprofen , sedatives and many other drugs.
The constant misuse of these drugs without a going for a proper laboratory test or a prescription from a medical practitioner and some biological factors causes drug resistance and tolerance.

I understand that in some cases we are aware of the medication to take to feel better and it works for us .
Personally, I know what works when I have headaches, cataarh or cold, but when the illness becomes severe and unbearable, I seek for healthier remedy, instead of dwelling on self medication.
I don't know why people still believe prescribing antibiotics and other harsh medications for themselves is the right thing to do.
When the first step should be going to a lab for a proper test and getting a prescription from a doctor.
With all the awareness created by Doctors on the media, during local outreaches and other mediums of communication, it's really unbelievable and annoying that individuals, still prescribe drugs for themselves in this age and time, even when an illness gets out of control.
The likes of Dr. Chinonso Egemba, my favorite Nigerian doctor also known as "Aproko Doctor" and many other health care practitioners across different globes have used their platform to educate the public about drug resistance and tolerance, it effects and preventive means .
They have tried to create awareness in rural and urban areas about drug resistance especially the intake antibiotics, without a doctor prescription .
Majority of people out there prefers to risk their lives , before getting a professional help, and at that point the bacteria causing their illness, is already resistant to almost all the antibiotics medication , due to abusive intake , this is. because of self medication and this can be extremely risky.

Some years ago, I felt really sick, I thought it was just normal fever or malaria, I had to take my regular medication for malaria and typhoid, after the complete dose I felt alright, the next three days I had same feeling of fever and sickness, it came back worse this time, I went straight to the closest hospital for check up and after the check up, I realized I was dealing with ulcer, not malaria or typhoid, and that gave me clarity on what I was dealing with.
I had to take prescribed medication, learnt to manage my health, was watchful with what I eat and after some months of good medication, I felt alright again.
If I had started abusing higher brands of malaria and typhoid medication or some antibiotics, it would have affected me more, it would have led to regular drug abuse, delay in healing and even more expenses.
So, I have taken a drug that was completely useless to the body, due to assumptions, but went to the hospital when symptoms persist.
I know it's almost impossible to not get sick as humans, but whenever we do, instead of abusing drugs or taking drugs without prescription we should go to the hospital and get treated the right way to avoid drug resistance and tolerance and it consequences.

That is true.
Though drug adaptation and resistance is a thing but most times, we find ourselves using wrong medication for illnesses and end up complaining that it is not working. It is considered drug misuse.
You are absolutely right.

Compliment of the season 🥰
I'm so sorry about your experience, but I'm glad you now know better than to take your usual drugs simply because you feel you know what's wrong with you from the pattern the symptoms came with.
It's also sad that antibiotics resistance is a big issue in our country. If you ever work in the lab or know someone who does, you will hear very crazy stories about this, enough to make you afraid of taking antibiotics at all. Still, I'm happy that little by little, our doctors on social media are doing their best to educate everyone. I just hope the ones offline can do the same because they're really lagging behind when it comes to educating their patients with intentionality.
Thank you so much, Yechee🥰
Most persons, don't value their health, that's why they keep abusing and misusing drugs, regardless of the awareness medical professionals keep creating.
Thanks for stopping by 😊
Right. You're welcome.🥰
Very true, we always think that we know the right drugs to use instead of visiting the hospital. Another thing I have realized is that headache can be a symptom of many diseases instead of just using a headache drugs we should always go to the hospital for checkup.
You are absolutely right, Instead of abusing pain reliefs, it's important to go for a check up, headache could be something more serious.
