Living in a world where you can control time, undo your past actions and mistakes would really be fun and easy going, it sounds super cool and interesting, but my concern is if we are given the ability to go back in time to redo our actions won't it be abused , would the ability to go back in time not lead to lack of accountability, won't it lead to chaos and societal issues.
It has its advantages and disadvantages, and to me the disadvantages are greater than the advantage.
We all have actions that we will like to correct that happened in the past, mistakes we made in relationships , actions we wish we can fix, great opportunity we lost due to negligence, money we lost in a trade and investment and so many heartbreaking situations.
One thing is certain , we learnt lessons from all these mistakes, humans learn better from mistakes and as we continue to live with this mistakes, it gave room for growth and we learnt more from this mistakes we once made.
So, if we actually had the opportunity to go back and fix all these, then how are we going to grow, imagine you keep going back in time and fixing all the mistakes and you are just in a particular state year to year , It's really going to limit our mindsets
The ability to go back in time will just make the world a chaotic and partial place, a place where nobody will be accountable for their mistakes, it would even lead to imperfections, because people will not care about their actions or the consequences that comes with doing a particular thing.
Create no room for remorse and empathy, people will kill and abuse each other without feeling remorse, it would be abused and used negatively because it a powerful ability.
Being able to move on with our mistakes and the consequences of our actions, is what makes life and learning interesting.
People will live their lives like they have nothing to lose, they will live with the mindset that everything can be fixed, so you can do anything you want or feel.
Decisions will be made without proper thoughts and analysis because we will begin to feel like we can go back and fix it like it never happened.
Being able to undo mistakes and change the choices we made will not be beneficial to the society in any way, it's only going to create more problems to humanity.
It's going to be abused , used negatively among us and utilized recklessly among us
If mistakes can be fixed by going back in time then it can make learning earsier and also make it difficult, to some persons it will be used positively, used as a guidance for learning.
Negatively, it would promote laziness and stagnation, they won't have the urge to learn other things in life, since they can always go back to correcting their regular mistakes.
Learning and embracing new things would be difficult, mistake is part of learning, because it gives us an opportunity to learn more.
If mistakes can be corrected easily, we will all stick an old pattern, there would be no urge or need to learn more.
The worse ethical dilemma, that this could cause is when it has to do with a murder situation, for instance, if someone commited murder, and undo their past mistakes, does it mean the person shouldn't be held accountable or arrested for a murder charge.
In summary, the ability to control time, will just lead to a chaotic society, that lacks accountability.
Thanks for reading ♥️
Exactly.
The disadvantages outweigh the advantages. No one will care about being held accountable for their actions, since they could just go back in time and undo everything. Our present will no longer have any significance, most people will spend more time amending their past, than looking forward to a better future.
