A Room Full Of Childhood Memories

Honestly when I think about this question I realize that I did not have friends as a child, I had classmates and people I grew up with, people I played with and talked to in school but having classmates is different from having friends, you can be in the class with someone for years and still not have that kind of connection where you can confidently call the person a friend.

Growing up I was not someone who had a circle of friends, yes I knew people, i interacted with them and shared some moments with them, only a few people actually became part of my life in a way that stayed with me...

One person who comes to mind immediately is Mercy my friend, She is the childhood friend I still talk to til today, then there are Kelvin, Future and Eziboy , these people I believe would make such a good gathering if we ever found ourselves in the same room again.

Now imagine all of us sitting in one room after all these years, the first few minutes might be a little funny because every friend would be looking at every friend trying to recognize how much we have changed, Some friends might look almost the same while others would make you wonder if you were actually in the class back then.

Then somebody would probably bring up an old memory and that would be the beginning of the whole thing...

You know how it is when someone reminds you of something embarrassing you did years ago? suddenly every friend remembers their version of the story and before you know it the room is filled with laughter, yeah... somebody would deny doing something another friend would insist that it happened that way and someone else would bring up an entirely different memory...

Honestly I think friends would connect well, I do not think friends would struggle to find things to talk about because there is already a history connecting us, even if we have not been in each others lives for years we once shared a part of our lives that nobody else in the room could fully understand.

However I also know that people change, The friend you knew as a child might have a different personality today, some friends become more outspoken, some become quieter and some develop interests you would never have imagined when you were younger.

So while I believe the old camaraderie could be reignited I would not expect everything to be the way it was before. We have all grown, experienced things and become different versions of ourselves, we would have stories to tell, new experiences to share and probably a lot of questions about what every friend has been doing with their lives.

As for how the gathering would remain lively, I think we could spend hours talking, laughing and catching up especially if every friend came with an open mind and a willingness to reconnect.

For me the beautiful thing about reconnecting with childhood friends is that you get to meet people who knew you before adulthood came with all its responsibilities.

Would I look forward to such a gathering? Absolutely! I would love to sit in that room listen to every friend’s stories laugh about our childhood days and discover how far we have all come.

Sometimes reconnecting with people, from your past reminds you that even though life has taken everyone in directions some connections are still worth revisiting.
