More than a neighbor

Greetings!

Like I used to say or tell people that are around, one of the most important aspects of life is good relationships as no one can live on his or her own. I have never seen anyone living by him or herself alone and that means that we will always need ourselves to live this life.

Having said this, one thing everyone of us must endeavor to build with all our might and strength is a good relationship and this must be done with all sense of dignity in us. So, to maintain a good relationship with others, there's some people we must make sure we live at peace with and those people are our neighbors. One thing I have got to know about neighbors is that they are our first and immediate family.

Although, we might not be related by blood or any other means through which one can be biologically related to his or her family, but even by the existing love that might be between us and our neighbors, I can boldly say we are related. So, love is the blood that connects neighbors to neighbors as families.

Ever since I have known that my neighbor is my first and immediate family, I have always been at peace and in a good relationship with them and also vice versa.

How do I get to know this? Some time ago, while I was away from home on an important office assignment, my wife called me to say that she was about to give birth to our first born and that there's no one to reach out to for help. She said, if she was to call her people living in another city in the middle of the night, none of them would come until the morning and that she didn't really know what to do.

But as she was saying this, i didn't also know what to do either, but as she was about to hang up the call, i thought of our neighbors Mr and Mrs Alao, immediately i realized they could be of help to us. I hung up the call and placed a call to their phone and without any delay, they answered my call and I narrated everything happening at my apartment to them.

Immediately they heard this, they promised me to attend to the situation and even told me to put my mind at rest as there would be no problem. But as a husband, my mind was not at rest as I was calling them continually.

However, they were able to assist me to get my wife to the hospital and there at the hospital, she delivered safely and it's then they now returned my call and at that point, they shared the good news to me that my wife had delivered a bouncing baby boy. Although I came back the following day, had it been they were not there to help me handle the situation, maybe things would have gone wrong.

But thank God they were there to assist me without any delay. So, this wouldn't have happened had it been I'm not in a good relationship with them.

Ever since then, I have always taken my neighbors as my family and the way I have always related with everyone that comes my way, being it at work or in my community is a testament to how good I have always maintained a good and cordial relationship with everyone. And in most cases, I have also done my own little part in helping others and I can boldly say that I'm the kind of neighbor anyone would love to have anytime, anyday.

In conclusion, building a cordial and lasting relationship among neighbors is of great importance to living a fulfilled and peaceful life. Though there might be challenges and issues, but with love, we will all overcome.
