Vaccines vs. Conspiracies

brano-QSuou3VAtf4-unsplash.jpg

There is one problem with some Africans and it is that they are overprotective when it comes to certain issues and this is due to lack of information. The Holy Bible even says that, "my people perish for lack of knowledge." Ignorance is a disease and if we must prevent ourselves from some unknown facts or theories, we must come out into the full knowledge of something while making a change in our lives.

I have heard different myths about vaccination from many people, especially the uneducated ones and mostly, those who take their culture and traditions so seriously, ignoring the usefulness of what could help solve problems and one of them is vaccination.

Vaccination, which leads to immunisation, is a process of giving a vaccine to help the body fight against any kind of disease through developing immunity to such disease. It's like being proactive while it's still early so that we don't have to start battling health issues later in life. It is more like getting the body prepared to fight off the actual disease if exposed to it later.

I took lots of vaccines as a child then and this was because my parents understood their importance and I must say, it's part of why I am living healthy today, because I believe those vaccines were stronger and have some weakened viruses, making it impossible to get some diseases that could have affected me.

Just like a few years ago, when my sister, who is the youngest, developed measles all over her body. It was said that she didn't get the immunisation when she should have, and that's why when the disease showed up, there was no vaccine in her body to help fight it off.

This is more reason some parents who understand the importance of vaccination do not hesitate to provide their kids when there are opportunities to get vaccinated.

The last time I got vaccinated was during the COVID-19 saga. Everyone was advised to get the vaccination to be safe, but unfortunately, many people, including myself, declined such idea because of fear. The truth was, we heard many people who got the disease even after being vaccinated, so it created fear in us, stopping us from taking it. Thank God we only heard those being infected, but it didn't happen to us. But at the same time, the right thing must be done.

After much persistence, I gave in and went to take the vaccines. I only took it once, and when I was told to come back another time for the second dose, I had left school as we were sent home, and that was the end.

There are also theories about vaccination that people have been made to believe and also make them not see the true importance of such vaccines and this is because they are trying to be safe and healthy and any slight mistake could cause a great issue later. There are those who spreads the news that the vaccines used are fake, unsafe and unhealthy, especially from the company where these products are made.

Like for instance, the case that happened around 2010 or so, which was before I got admission and was working in a private school. These medical personnel went to give vaccinations to children in a private school, and they all died due to the vaccines. This caused a great fear in schools that they had to stop any vaccination being given to children.

For some, they believe the vaccines, when given, would alter one's DNA or even give you the disease you are protecting them from. In a recent article I read, it was stated that the vaccines have some microchips, which were probably placed there by Bill Gates. These are rumours and gossip that, if they keep spreading, could cause a great deal to many people.

Another craziest theory I read was that there is a vaccine called Pfizer, and when taken, it would affect women's fertility. But the truth is that it's impossible for such a vaccine to make the body attack the placenta.

A lot of rumours that when one takes them to heart, they miss out on the important thing they ought to do to help fight diseases. This is why there are some countries like the US that ensure all vaccines that are licensed and approved are safe for everyone. Vaccines are safe, healthy and cannot cause the diseases they are designed to prevent.

Vaccination is an important part of one's healthy life. When you get sick, everyone around you is at risk, and this is why staying up to date on all recommended vaccines is important, as it helps to protect you and your family, including those around you, so the diseases won't keep spreading.

There were too many conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 vaccine that it was sometimes difficult to know what to believe or disregard.

There was this story going around that the COVID-19 vaccine would sterilize people who took it, chai, and I know people who took it and are now having kids. I still don't know what people gain by spreading such lies.

The truth is, rumors will always spread but we can get informed on our own while saving ourselves, too. People with fake lies everywhere nd pitting fears on others.

Btwn, I am currently watching that movie; it's so interesting. I got to the part Harrison got a well-deserved slap πŸ˜‚

My sister you have exposed the root of the issue and that is the African soil. The level of unbelief on this very soil is alarming and needs urgent help.

How can vaccines cause infertility? It baffles me gan o

In case of old vaccines I don't have any issue and I think it should be ok to take but when it come to new vaccines it should be avoided because it can be a trap to make experiments also. At least history says so.

We had some relatives here who fell ill during the Corona period and were vaccinated and passed away within a few days, so there must have been something wrong with the vaccine, and we haven't been able to find out until now.
