My Business Tools: Making The Whole Process Easier

Recently, I started a small business making and selling chin-chin. It was something that had been on my mind for a while until I eventually took the step. The business is now almost three weeks old, and so far, I have been making sales, even to my utmost amazement.

These are the tools that have made it easier for me because of how hectic the preparation is, especially at the cutting stage. I have been making chin chin before, though that was in the year 2016 and haven’t tried it since then. The cutting stage can be harder than the frying.

The first week I started making chin chin, I didn’t have these tools. Although I have been using my hand to mix the ingredients, I had to improvise when it came to the cutting stage. It was at that point that I knew I needed something to make it easier for me. I only started with what I had then until I ordered these tools online.

At first, I ordered the chin chin cutter, which has made the cutting easier and faster, unlike using a knife; sometimes my hands aren’t straight when using a knife, and the shapes wouldn’t come out nicely, not until my cutter was delivered to me.

The first time I used the tool, I couldn’t be happier than that day, and it has been going smoothly since then.

How about the measuring cups? Sincerely, I thought using my head to calculate the measurement would help but sometimes, my calculations may not work; so, I also ordered measuring cups with their specific measurements to make things easier for me. For instance, I have the complete standard cup set:
1 cup
½ cup
⅓ cup
¼ cup
1 tablespoon
½ tablespoon
¼ tablespoon
1 teaspoon
½ teaspoon
¼ teaspoon

Trust me, with these, I don’t need to start racking my brain whether the ingredients are okay since I have the right measurements for them.

Then the chopping board and rolling pin. Let me gist you: the first time I made some chin chin - the plan was to make the first batch for testing while I advertise my business around, so I could have some customers before going into the full production process. I didn’t have a rolling pin, nor did I have any improvised tools at home.

I went to borrow a small, wooden, and rounded spatula, but it was very big and long. I couldn’t make use of it and I already made the dough. I had to find something in my kitchen to make it work and I was glad it turned out nice.

The following week, I went to the market in search of one until I got both. Now, my chin chin process is easier to make.

Imagine not having these tools for my business. I don’t want to go into details of how stressful and time-wasting it was without them. And lack of these tools could even make me give up, and I wouldn’t want that to happen, especially when I have made some people taste the chin chin and have given their positive reviews.

Right now, the goal is to get a chin-chin cutter machine where I wouldn’t need to use my hand or cutter, but the machine would do the work easily for me without stress. And also, a mixer to mix my dough instead of using my hands and arms.

It’s never an easy one mixing a large quantity of dough with your hands because at that point, you would be using your strength to mix it which could make you get weaker.

Since I started this chin chin, I have had to make sure I don’t do much, and besides, I make them twice or thrice in the week just so I can also rest in between.

The last time I made some together with a young girl who came around to help me, I knew how important it is to have someone to help you. I felt the relief that day. But until then, I should be managing and enduring the whole thing and enjoying my little profit that comes from it 😜
