Public Infrastructure Are Better Handled By The Public Corporation

The availability of social amenities is the reason why governments have streamlined what can be owned as a private business and what must be for free use. In the real sense of it, there is nothing that is free. The government has one way or the other where people pay for using some of these social amenities like roads, pipe borne water and so on. The only free gift of nature is oxygen. But if the economic policy of the state is designed such that private individuals could own roads, then some amount of ugly experience is what we are likely going to have.
Let me take a moment to expatiate on some of the experiences that humans are likely to see if some of these basic social amenities like roads are privately owned.

Increased Cost Of Living

There is no gainsaying the fact that private companies would charge exorbitant prices for the use of roads and water. Ordinarily, we can all see the effect of private ownership of petroleum facilities and products. All over the world, life has become more demanding in areas where private companies have owned houses, hospitals and the like than those owned by the government.

I think that might arise as a result of differences in the ideology. The government has the idea of not generating profit from establishing such infrastructure which is a direct opposite of the ideology of private companies. This is why one would see all over the places that infrastructures owned by the government and meant for public use only charge a meagre amount compared to private organizations.

Limited Access

Since private organizations are all about the services they provide, it may be difficult to make the water or roads in places with less demography. If we check categorically, private organisations may only be interested in providing the services in urban areas as population is a factor to be considered before the location of the product.
This may cause a lot of disadvantages for people who dwell in farms or less populated areas who are always disadvantaged in the provision of public infrastructures.
There could also be a road network for some class of people. And also, water which is a basic necessity may be hoarded from people who may not be able to afford it.

Worsened Cases Of Inequality

Presently, the world is being marginalised because of factors like poverty and education. When private companies are allowed to own roads and water, it may become delicate on the issue of segregation which has already eaten deep into the fabrics of the society.

Individuals who are unable to access the roads or water may feel marginalised, thereby increasing the already heated polity. There will certainly be a wide gap between the rich and the poor in society. It may lead to a large extent of restriction in the society.

It is therefore wise to advise that the concept of privatising roads and water not be considered at all.

Regulation Issues

Private organisations are profit driven and as such may not be able to maintain the public utilities like roads like the government would do. There is also likely going to be a decline in the quality of roads. For water production and distribution, private organisations may not be able to handle contamination issues like the government would. Government should however prioritise the lives of citizens and not make life miserable for them.

That's one major problem of private ownership, the increase in cost would be enormous.

And not everyone will be able to use their products, meaning that most people won't be able to walk on the road. That will be very absurd.

Indeed private owned industries are only after profit.

They are in business for that singular reason.
