October, Together [EN/PT]

Not every month is filled with great achievements, good news, or extraordinary events. Sometimes, certain periods of our lives are a little more difficult, filled with changes, uncertainties, and situations that end up demanding more from us than we would like. October wasn't exactly one of the best months for me. I've been going through a series of personal transformations, trying to find my place in this new phase of life and, in a way, relearning a few things about myself. However, when I stop to think about the question of what the most beautiful thing that happened to me last month was, I don't have to look very far. October is a particularly special month for two reasons: it's my son's birthday month and also my mother's. They are two very important people in my life, and regardless of what's happening around me, these are moments that always deserve to be celebrated.

My son's birthday was one of those moments that made me forget about everyday worries for a while. We didn't throw a big party, but we decided to go out for a meal somewhere nice, enjoy the day, and do something different. We also went on a few outings, and among his presents, he received a new set of cymbals for his drum kit. For someone who loves music, I imagine there aren't many gifts better than something that allows them to explore that passion even further. I enjoy following his interests, even when I don't always completely understand the world of the things he likes. It's interesting to realize how quickly time passes. It feels like yesterday that I was holding my son in my arms for the first time, and now I'm here, following his interests, discoveries, and the development of his own personality. We'll still have a small celebration this weekend, with cake and a little party at my mother's house. It will be a little late, but I believe these things don't necessarily have to happen on the exact date to be special.

My mother's birthday was a little different. This time, I had the opportunity to spend the entire day with her, and we had a barbecue to celebrate. There was no extraordinary schedule, just food, conversation, and the kind of company that is sometimes all we need. Perhaps that's precisely what makes these moments so beautiful. As we get older, we begin to realize that we don't always need great events to create good memories. Some ordinary afternoons end up becoming memories we carry with us for many years. My mother has been part of my story since the very beginning, and being able to share another birthday with her is something I don't want to take for granted. After all, time passes for all of us, and we never know how many more opportunities we'll have to gather the people we love around a table.

Thinking about it, perhaps the most beautiful thing that happened to me in October was simply having these two opportunities to celebrate life alongside people who mean so much to me. It wasn't a perfect month, I didn't accomplish anything extraordinary, and there are still many things I'm trying to put in order in my life. But amid so many changes, these little moments reminded me of something we sometimes forget: there are still reasons to smile, even when things aren't exactly the way we'd like them to be. Perhaps the beauty of life lies much more in these simple experiences than in those great achievements we spend so much time pursuing. A birthday, a barbecue, a gift connected to a passion, and a few hours of conversation may seem like small things to someone looking from the outside, but they mean a lot to the people experiencing them. And if there's one thing I want to take away from this month, it's precisely this memory. We can spend so much time searching for extraordinary things while some of the most beautiful ones are already happening right before our eyes.
