The protagonist, Kvothe, is a very talented former itinerant who tries to overcome the hardships of life after becoming an orphan, but that is not all. At a certain point in the story, Kvothe needs a patron who can sponsor him so he can play his lute in the best taverns. The truth is, finding a patron is not easy, but when one appears in his life, the path becomes much lighter and many obstacles are set aside. And looking at this aspect of the story, how many of us do not need a patron in our lives?
If I could have a patron, someone who could invest in me, many ideas could come to life. I have always been a very creative person and, from an early age, I have been good at building things with that creativity. Many people have praised me for it, so maybe it is actually true. I always try to think a little outside the box, and that kind of thinking has always helped me solve problems wherever I have been. And if I solve problems, I stand out. That has helped me a lot in my professional journey. So, in short, I can say that I am a creative problem solver.
In the world we live in, those who solve problems get rich, but I am not rich yet. I would likely be very successful if, at some point, a partner or even an investor could fund my ideas. Many of them may seem a bit crazy, but it is precisely from ideas like these that incredible projects are born. Of course, not all of them may truly be relevant, but nothing that proper refinement and a qualified team could not handle, and a sponsor, well, could make all difficulties easier.
But my problem has never been just money, it is the number of ideas and directions I create for myself. With so many possibilities, I end up getting lost, and at times I simply stagnate where I am, even with so many possible paths ahead. Perhaps my biggest challenge has always been dealing with insecurity and a lack of determination in my choices. With so many paths, I keep moving from one to another and end up never arriving anywhere. A blessing or a curse, but having too many options can be just as bad as having none.
And perhaps what is really missing in many people’s lives is a great investor, not just in mine. How many talented people are being wasted in roles that do not match who they truly are? How many ideas, how many projects will never leave the paper due to lack of investment? How much talent is hidden and being wasted? It is a shame that incredible things are never realized due to lack of financial power, or even support and direction.
I believe that, more than having someone who could invest in me or in my ideas, what I would really like is to have the financial power to be someone else’s investor, to bring ideas to life and create incredible things. Perhaps one of my greatest strengths is being able to read people and identify their strengths, to understand where they could be more efficient and where they could truly shine. I believe my biggest life goal is exactly that, to have the means to help other people walk the paths they were meant to walk. I am working toward being able to do that one day.
But in the end, it is indeed important to have someone who believes in us and sees our qualities. Before anything else, however, we need to see ourselves from the inside out. Believing in ourselves is the first step. In fact, it is the most important one. If one day a patron, an investor, or a sponsor becomes interested in us, we need to be prepared. We need to know ourselves, understand our strengths, clarify our ideas, and above all, know our worth. Not everyone will have the opportunity to rely on external help, but that cannot be an excuse not to act. Even without an investor, we still have something powerful, the ability to start with what we have, to learn along the way, and to turn little into a lot. Sometimes, the first investor we need to win over is ourselves, our discipline, our courage, and our consistency. Because in the end, those who learn to walk on their own are far more prepared to run when the opportunity finally appears.

E talvez falte mesmo um grande investidor na vida de muitas pessoas, não só na minha. Quantas pessoas talentosas não estão sendo desperdiçadas em funções que não são compatÃveis com quem realmente são? Quantas ideias, quantos projetos nunca sairão do papel por falta de investimento? Quanto talento está escondido e sendo desperdiçado? É uma pena que coisas incrÃveis nunca sejam realizadas por falta de poder financeiro, ou mesmo de suporte e direcionamento.
Acredito que, mais do que ter alguém que pudesse investir em mim ou nas minhas ideias, o que eu mais gostaria era de ter o poder aquisitivo para ser o investidor de alguém, tirar ideias do papel e criar coisas incrÃveis. Talvez uma das minhas maiores qualidades seja justamente ler as pessoas e identificar seus pontos fortes, entender onde poderiam ser mais eficientes, onde poderiam brilhar. Acredito que meu maior objetivo de vida seja exatamente esse, ter condições de ajudar outras pessoas a trilhar os caminhos que deveriam ser trilhados. Estou lutando para um dia poder fazer isso.
Mas, por fim, é de fato importante ter alguém que acredite em nós e enxergue nossas qualidades. Antes de tudo, porém, precisamos nos ver de dentro para fora. Acreditar em nós mesmos é o primeiro passo. Na verdade, o mais importante. Se um dia um mecenas, um investidor ou um padrinho se interessar por nós, precisamos estar preparados.
