The Weight Of Apology Videos: Sincere Or Scripted?

They say, one with more is one with more responsibilities, a public figure means most of what they do to keep that figure has to be public. Celebrities have to live with the fact that they have an obligation towards the public and keeping a clean slate at all times, near perfect.

But as it has always been, some still falter and let the public down by their scandalous actions because after all, they are humans before they are celebrities. Where it goes wrong is that, they fail to handle their scandals well enough and thinks a public apology will take it away easily.

One thing I've learnt about the word "Sorry", it can be said easily and without actually being sincere. I know of people who will almost never say sorry but when they do, you'll know they are actually being sincere because you'll never find them doing what they did wrong again, they've learnt.

Some people don't find it easy to apologize but from their actions, you can tell they are remorseful for what they did and a forgiving heart just let go, not waiting for a sorry. It's a different case for online or digital situations where there are many eyes and different people thoughts.

A Case Scenario - An Actor Apologies Publicly.

Sometime ago, a Korean actress was announced dead and that she commited suicide on the birthday of a Korean actor. It was a sad news until rumours began to go around that the Korean actor had a lot to do with her death because he once dated her when she was still very young.

It took a lot of proofs, videos and pictures, to make the actor come out of his shell not to agree to the speculations but to only apologies to the public. Before that, no news of him visiting the family who lost their daughter and he didn't attend her funeral, yet he claimed he was sorry.

All I saw from that apology video he agreed to do was for him to gain his lost deals back, because I heard he lost a lot of his contract with brands after the scandal went viral. It was even more annoying that he cried so hard on camera trying to prove he is totally innocent about the situation.

I don't know about others but I see no sincerity in that public apology he did no matter how seriously he cried because he's an actor and has done that a lot in the movies I've seen him on. What I wished he had done that would make a difference is, apologizing to the bereaved family.

Going silent for a long time and coming to cry on camera when things got out of hands wasn't the way to go about it especially with the fact that he actually dated the lady who died, I mean, someone died! That is a more reason to show some remorse to the family first but he didn't.

I don't believe much of these online or as I'll call them, scripted apologies. They are people used to the camera already, so it's definitely easy for them to go on and say sorry like they mean it but actually don't. Apologizing directly to those they've offended should come first before public.

Genuine apology should begin with the person you offended. Then when you are sure that the person has forgiven you, then you move to God and still ask for forgiveness...this will even give you peace within...then video apologizing will come last if necessary

My God...I no go even be a celebrity in my next world because I don't just like all these public things biko 🤣

That's it, many actually overlook the part of asking God for forgiveness and it shouldn't be so.

I believe that if a person is sincere in saying sorry, s/he can apologize personally, and I don't think the whole world must know that someone is saying sorry as they have nothing to do with it. Most of them are scripted and for catching attention.

Yeah, it can only go public after a personal apology and if the situation that led to it was made public too.

All those those video shenanigans is just a cover up for the real thing. Some even do it to cause clouts. Real apologies starts from secret before it’s open. I am already tired of all the drama on social media

When something goes wrong that lead to a celebrity recording an apology video or writing one online is alway because they want to protect their self and dealership which they have made rather than been actually sincere

But I believe there are very few that do that with no hidden intentions but sincere apology they are quite very few though

Yeah, not many are sincere but we do have the sincere ones on camera some times.

Most celebrities come out to apologize via video because they need to protect something so dear to them. They know if they don’t do it, their reputation is at stake in public and might make them lose on deals - hence their insincerity when they apologize. It’s so fake and instead of doing the right thing, they come to the open thinking they are saints.

That's it, they hardly show sincerity when they apologize to the public. I think it's unnecessary, they just need to apologise to the offended which many don't.

That his cry is not true because he never visited or even showed concern after she died. This is really annoying.
So sorry for that lady who lost her life. Who knows what happened to her. That is why we need to be very careful with the people around us.
Thanks for sharing

As for the Korean actor I heard the dated way back and then broke up but he was the one that help her into acting but she later incured debt, which this guy paid off but she kept bringing problems for him, so he stop clearing her debt. She now went into depression and the guy cut her off. Mind you they were no longer dating

It still doesn't change the fact that he could have sympathize with the bereaved family at least and he didn't, they once dated means he once cared for her 🥲

I don't think he owes them anything. We were once dating, we broke up but I still help you whenever you need it. I was tired of helping and remove my hand, you went and kill yourself . How is that his problem, imagine your brother helping his ex and she die because he stop helping, people now want him to take the fall for what exactly . That why people no longer help
