The Presidency That Changed Everyday Life

When I saw the prompt, I thought I'd have almost nothing to share until I remembered this particular president that changed way more than expected in his tenure. I really wish I know enough about the short time Muhammad Yar'Adua ruled as a president to write about him instead because it's been so much good things I hear about him unlike the many other presidents.

I'll say every president are quite unforgettable for one thing or the other, I mean, personally, all the presidents I know came with one craziness, goodness and surprises or the other. Although I was younger and knew little to nothing about politics so I can't say much about the first two presidents that I witnessed, they were quite good.

But for this prompt, I'm choosing to talk about the president whose tenure came with many drama that I can still remember like last week was his tenure. President Buhari became the president in my second year in the university and it didn't take too long before my school went on an ASUU strike, and then covid lockdown came shortly.

I remember staying home a lot in his tenure like I wasn't in school yet, it was like everybody was talking about Buhari at every conversation back then because they thought he brought too many changes the country didn't think was good for them. He was the president that made me learn a little about politics and the use of the voters card.

It was in his presidency tenure the country had a "no cash" season, a time I honestly never imagined would ever happen in the history of money lol. With only this reason, he is an unforgettable president already if you ask me. I remember how we'd struggle or pay too much to have some cash on us to buy items with them.

Another significant thing that happened in his tenure is, the rise in prices of things. The present president is worse but I'll say Buhari started it so he like skyrocketed the whole thing after. So this unforgettable thing is still living as the present president continues his tenure. We complained about inflation not knowing it had only started.

It was also in Buhari's tenure we had a very sad event that took the lives of many youth during a protest in 2020, it was tagged a black October 20th and I can't even imagine how more unforgettable it will be for the families who actually lost their families to that protest. I don't remember the president doing anything about it.

And the last thing that is significant to remember for a long time about his tenure is the news that he might be a clone who is ruling the country, that he is long dead but someone is standing in for him using his face and all. It was quite unbelievable to me until those are actually possible in our today's world. In summary, Buhari's tenure wasn't good but unforgettable.
