This is a topic that has slowly become one affecting every person, so long you have what you don't wish to lose especially money. I've heard of many stories about people losing their hard earned money to scammers, people who choose not work but take from what people have worked for. I can still remember first experience.
Scammers are everywhere and it's in different ways they come at people to scam them. One time while I was spending time with my uncle, he got a call from someone who introduces himself as his landlord with his wife in a hospital, that they need some money to pay for surgery treatment to commence as his wife is critically ill.
I don't know how my uncle knew immediately that it was the voice of a scammer, he set the call on a loud speaker for us to listen to how he presented the whole issue. Personally, I could have somehow fell for that thinking at least I'm helping someone to gain their health back. But the truth was evident, the man is a big scammer.
Well, my uncle didn't fall for it so that's by the way. If there is one I will always remember, even though it's not my personal experience, it is the one that a lot of people I knew got involved in. Even I was involved but I was lucky enough to had just started when the whole thing turned into a big scam to everybody that had been into it.

If I remember correctly, the system somehow convinced people to put in their money in exchange for weekly to monthly returns and even Foodstuffs for every investor. It was a good deal in every sense and they made sure to even accept small amounts investment, which made more people join in thinking they'll lose nothing.
I know of a very close friend who got good returns at the beginning and because things like that causes greed, he invested a lot more into the system hoping to gain even more. There were more people like that, it turns out that was the plan of the scammers from the beginning. They deliver first and get people to become greedy.
A lot of people testified about the works of these scammers so much that more people joined every single day, hoping to eradicate their "no food" experiences and it worked for a short while, I found it and joined but just before I was about to put in it big enough for faster returns, the whole thing came to an halt and people lost all.
Maybe a few were able to recover what was lost but my close friend lost more than she gained out of the system and I was lucky enough not to put in an amount I could have been so heartbroken to have lost. Handling situations like that can be very difficult as we've all come to place a lot of value in money, even scammers do.
One of the things I've learned from experiences with scammers is that, I won't be free of their temptations, they will always come but slowly I am building an immune against them to be able to tell when they are coming for my money without working for it, like my uncle was able to detect. But then, scam can happen in many forms and it's left to us to find and not fall prey.
