Nigeria’s Good and Bad Through My Eyes

Life is made up of the good side and the bad side, it is how everything is designed. What may be good also have a bad side of it, so it's not a surprise that my country, Nigeria has both her good and her bad side. Where the concern comes in is when the bad keeps overshadowing the good in the country and that's been the case.

Honestly, I have noticed that I only get to think and worry about my country at times like this, when a prompt is directed to it, and during prayers. It is always part of my prayer points that the country continues to favor me. I know there are people who think, worry, and argue all day about how bad things are. Rarely do people talk about the good things happening. If I am being honest, it makes sense because the bad often outweighs the good, and that is concerning.

One of the things I don't give my time to rant about or even talk about is, the state of my country. Because one thing is clear, if we keep talking and no action is taken, we're just wasting our precious time that should be used for something more productive. So personally, I've chosen to see my country a bit more differently.

I know it may come across as selfish or I'm only seeing it from my safe corner but no, I'm aware of the killings, kidnapping and robberies going on far and near. But it's not something I can take action to correct or put an end to. I choose to trust in God to bring peace to this country that more and more people will live peacefully with no fear as they go about their lives as citizens.

I don't follow the news if not, I'll definitely have one recent bad thing to share about my country but since I didn't follow recent news, I will choose not to share any bad thing on this post. But yes, there are a lot of them flying around and it's very concerning, I choose to keep hoping for a time where we would have less bad and more good.

The same goes for the good things that has happened in my country recently, I don't have any specific one but for the fact that I've not experienced any bad moments that can be traced to the country I found myself in, and that I have been having peaceful moments in the chaos going on in my country, I know others do too... I think those are good things worth mentioning.

The way forward, from my personal thought, is to continue what I have been doing. Choosing to pray for the country and choosing to not blame the country for my life. Instead, I'll make the country work in my favour by doing less blaming and more actions that will affect my environment positively and in connection, the country will be a bit better place for me and all who are striving for the same thing with me. So May God help us.
