This prompt woke me up immediately, I realized that I've been failing to do something that helped me beyond what I could say when I was consistent with it, having a quiet time to myself. It's not that I stopped having those moments, I still have the early mornings but not intentionally.

Okay, maybe waking up before everyone else does, to have a time with God and plan my day, is intentional. I say this because some mornings, I want to just keep lying on my bed but something pulls me up to go sit and get started with what have been impacting my life way more positively.
When was the last time you reflected? Or took time to meditate?
Before I share the last time I did, I'd love to share the very first time I intentionally decided to reflect before going to sleep. I want to share for the sake of some who may have never bothered to reflect or have a quiet time with themselves and hopefully, they are reading this now. So here it is.
I had an amazing day on the night I decided to reflect, maybe to relive those moments and sleep with more joy in my heart. What happened next shocked me! Thoughts I wasn't prepared for came rushing in, big and small distractions, even a weird video I saw days ago came replaying.
It was unsettling! I felt "not relaxed" as I wanted when I decided to reflect. That moment taught me just how important we guard what goes into our heart by what we see, hear or feel as we live our lives. Of course, some things aren't in our control but there's more in control to focus on.
So since that day, I've been able to reflect more often, have quiet moments with myself and I learned that "Having a quiet time with myself is having a quiet time with God". The world is loud, busy, fast and everything opposite of what having a quiet time entails, I slowly learned to be quiet.

This has helped me in more ways than I can actually put in words right now but one thing is sure, I started to gain clarity over the things I do on autopilot. Believe it or not, most of us are living our lives because that's just how we've been living, no special reason we live that way.
Is it something you hope to continue?
Yes! And I'm not just saying it, I'm adding it to my list of non negotiables because I know just how much my life need those moments especially if I want growth in different aspects of my life. I've started by having a daily morning routine for quiet moments. I'll take it up from there, go slow.
Images used are mine.
For someone who is an over-thinker, we consciously find ourselves reminiscing about thoughts we shouldn't have, and do not wish to but it just comes except for a conscious and intentional person who gets to filter what they want to reflect on during their quiet time.
I don't know if what I do and when I do, is a reflective time but I hope to practice doing a reflection time because I do need it, everyone needs it though but I think if I can incorporate that moment into my routine it will help me think well and deeply about things and people.
Thank you for this write-up

It's not easy for an overthinker but intentionality will help a lot.
I pray you find a way to put it in your routine, every one of us needs it.
Thank you for stopping by.
You are welcome
I'm not consistent with my quiet time, but whenever life is difficult and tiring, I always make sure to set aside time for my quiet time. Just like yesterday, I think I had enough of this stress and everything; I just had to make time for myself.
That's still good enough, some don't even have such a time at all.
Yeahh it's really not negotiable cos just like you were thinking you had it all as a great day and even wanted to relieve those moments so you can have smiles on your face to sleep but then the shocking ones splashed at you, that's how exactly we get to see where we went wrong in our daily lives and activities.
I hope you would start again and continue like you said
Yeah, I've started again and better. Thank you sis.
You're wlc my Whale
Guarding our heart is the real deal, sometimes at the moment when you'd want to have a conversation with yourself, there comes flood of thoughts. That's the biggest distraction and it takes intentionality to get it right and be consistent too.
Have a fulfilled week ahead.
That's right, our mind is the biggest distraction if we can't guard and control it properly.
I wish you same.
Thanks!
I won't say I am consistence with my quite time but each time I observe it, it usually feel unusual
Somthijg unique to always do in our noisy agd distracted world
We can't go wrong with observing quite time more often
It's fine not to be consistent with it, doing it when you can is just as important.
Change can be hard at times, but realizing what you need and accepting to work towards it is a great start.
Indeed, it's hard but the best side of life to work on.
