I hate to feel or fall sick because I'm one of those who don't like taking drugs or going for some kind of treatment. Regardless of this, I've found myself going to check whatever is wrong with me to give proper treatment but I'll owe that to my mum who's very interested in my well being even more than I am. I've done a lot of health checkup.
I totally understand why people get scared to leave their houses to a hospital for check up, the news a lot of them come back with is sometimes something they wish they didn't found out at all. One movie I saw, the girl forced herself to see a doctor and came back thinking of how to live her last months as she found out she had cancer.
Maybe it's because I worked at a medical laboratory for sometime, I got to see the greater advantage one has to go for check ups as regularly as possible but I'll always advice that anyone to be sure of the hospital they go do it. It's almost becoming normal for some lab scientists to use their experiences, not machines.
Like they check your health by just looking at how you look or react, some just use random figure using the one they get from the malfunctioning machines they used in checking the patient. Imagine going home thinking your health issue is very serious or vice versa and you end up doing too much for what is little or little for what's big.
Because of this, I've learned to be more careful where I go for check ups and be sure before I start taking treatment. How often I go for check ups can not be encouraged because a lot of times, I go out of convenience or I'm offered an opportunity to do so. And most of the times I've gone for it, mum suggested and went with me.
The last time I went for a check up was in early last year before I went for my country service. I was feeling very sick, had stomach aches too often and mum wasn't sure what to treat so we visited a medical laboratory together. I dropped my samples, waited for the results and we went back home finding out it wasn't anything serious.
Some days after, mum took me to an old lady who was known to figure out what is wrong with a person by touching some parts of your body. It was a scary suggestion but I was curious to know how it would play out so we went. Well, I didn't learn of something new from that trip but it change and do better with my eating habits.
Honestly, I don't know when I'll be going for another check up but I do have it in mind especially with these reminders from Hive, I wrote about something similar some days ago. We're always a step ahead when we go for our check ups but I'm not the best person to talk about how often you should go for the checkups.

Health is wealth; never overlook a little sign at all. Some old people are actually gifted
Yeah, I've learned that.
Hey there, Merit. Like you, I don’t like falling sick. When I’m sick, I think about the times when I was healthy and active. I think about the things I’d do if I wasn’t sick. Good health cannot be overemphasized. I hope you go for a check up soon!❤️
That's a good strategy lol. I will soon, thanks
