Sometimes, I use to sit and think about those days when I use to see my childhood friend almost everyday. Back then, I always see it a normal part of my life. Like we don’t need to plan for weeks before seeing each other or even worry about being too busy. Anytime we meet, we gist about anything, we do silly things, we laugh over things that weren’t even funny, and we can even spend the whole day together without getting tired of each other. Back then, I never imagined that someone who has been part of my everyday day life will someday be far away from me.
The truth is that, Life happens in different stages. You know, when we were little, we had childhood friends that we played with almost every day. When we also start school, we also met with new people and even became friends with some of our classmates. We share things together and also create memories without thinking too much about the future. But as we grew older, life took us to different directions. Adulthood comes with different responsibilities , but as children, we did not always worry about all these things.
Growing up, I did not have many friends, probably because I preferred having a few close friends rather than keeping a large circle of friends. I believe that the smaller the circle the closer the bond we have. I had one childhood friend that I was very close with. We did almost everything together, we go out together, and did all the silly things friends would normally do. You know, when we are together, There was always something to talk about, something to laugh over, or even have somewhere to go.
Eventually, nothing last forever, she travelled and later joined the army, because that has always been her dream, while I went to the university to continue my education. Despite the fact that we were no longer together , we still kept in touch with each other through phone calls and chats. It has been seven years since we last saw each other face to face. There were times when we always talk about meeting, but somehow, one thing or another has always prevented it from happening. Honestly, I miss having her around because talking on the phone can never be the same as seeing her physically.
During my university days , I also have beautiful memories. I made new friends, we both read together, did assignments, and also gist about different things. All these things made school life more enjoyable. Looking back, I got to realize that, sometimes going to school is not only about attending lectures and passing exam but sometimes, it’s also about the memories we shared with the people we met.

After graduation, I lost touch with most of my friends. I have not met any of my friends or coursemates since we left school till today. Of course, it bound to happen, because everyone is busy trying to build their lives, pursue their dreams, and handle different responsibilities on their table. Almost everyone is busy with life, and finding time to meet will not always be easy.
Now, imagine being placed in a room with my childhood friend and all my classmates. Honestly, it will be a dream come true for me, and I can already imagine how lively the room would be. I will start by asking questions about how life has been, and after that, We would bring up some old memories that will make everybody burst into laughter until our stomach hurt.We would have so many stories to share, and I am sure that some of the things we laugh about might not even be funny to someone who was not there when it happened. Yeah, I believe the gathering would be filled with surprises, and moments we would always remember for a long time.
Of course, we have all grown up, and we have all had different experiences that has shaped us to who we have become. Some people might be different from the way they were years back. We may not even think the same way like we use to think back then. That’s actually not bad, it would likely make things to be more interesting, because you get to know how far they have come and even hear their stories and how they have use it built their life over the years. And I can also learn from their stories, I think it’s going to be a meaningful conversation.
For me, the most beautiful part of everything would be that I was able to meet the people who knew me before adulthood changed so many things about me. I really hope it would become a reality one day . You know that feeling of looking at the faces of a childhood friend and classmates you haven’t seen for years? Seeing them in one room will be a great feeling, we would laugh and enjoy those little moments we once took for granted.
