Trust Is Precious, But Human Life Is More Precious.

You know there's something so calming and comforting knowing fully well that someone gat your back, and that you can speak or talk to someone about a thing or deep things and you know it's safe with the person. That's what we are saying about client privileges with the like skf doctors, lawyers, priests and the likes or even ones counselor. They happen to fall under the category of people who others often tell their problems, pasts, sins, offense, characters, painful memories and the likes. And people do so because they believe as their clients then they are covered and whatever they share with them won't become something they hear others gossiping about, it stays between them both.

And I happen to understand this thing very well even though I'm not a doctor or lawyer or a priest, reason is because there are times I do the anonymous stuffs on my WhatsApp status and some people get to split stuffs out, there are even those who would come straight to my DM telling me they just need someone to share a thing with, someone to advise them or someone that will just listen to them. It shows that they trust me, if not a lot of things that are deep that I've gotten to hear wouldn't have made it out of their mind if they didn't trust me, and that burden they will continue to carry it about. Even though I've had to stop it sometimes ago until I'm fully ready to be back in. It is not so easy.

Now, here's the difficult part. When the secret or whatever you're being told happens to be something that could save the life of somebody else, it becomes difficult. It is difficult because you have your client to protect and you also have people or someone who could get saved as well if you reveal it. In my own opinion I wouldn't say it is best to protect the lives of those who are involved, privileges don't exist to become a shield for preventable tragedy but to protect people..I can't have information like that, that would help save someone and decide to keep mute about that.... common even my conscience wouldn't allow me. And I have an instance to share, a real life story I heard from a mentor of mine.

So, this man together with some of his close pals began to do kidnapping works and they get paid for it. Later, they decided it's getting tough and just decide to do money ritual once and for all, that way they wouldn't have to continue kidnapping to make money and after the money ritual and money comes then they are sure that power and influence will follow. But then this didn't sit well with the man, he's okay with just extortion or ransom, now having to go to the extent of killing people for ritual is too much for him to handle. So, after a Sunday service, he went to see his pastor and confessed to him all he has been doing and also told him they've already kidnapped about 6 kids that would be used for the ritual.

Long story short, the pastor had to put a call through to security operatives and the kids were taken to safety while the other guy's were apprehended. The identity of the man wasn't revealed so no know knew how the information leaked. But the main point is, the kids who would have been a victim of this to-be ritualist were reunited back to their family's. I remember my mentor asking about the three of us who were with him that day what we would have done in that situation too. What would you have done?

Client privileges are good,nko doubt about that, if not a lot of people wouldn't come out straight with things going on with them or what they are passing through. Client's would lie to their doctor's, patients wouldn't want their doctors to know what exactly is wrong with them and church members wouldn't tell their pastors they need spiritual directions on some matters. So, client privileges should remain, but it should never be misused or be a reason why innocent lives are lost. You say trust is precious, I say human life is more precious. An depending on the situation, if there's a way to protect both, then fine, but if you're left with protecting just one, then do well to protect life's.
