Let's Celebrate, But Let's Not Forget January!

The holiday season is fast approaching again and I can't help but be happy, mostly because it is a time I would get to see my siblings, family and all again. You know, there's a different kind of joy in seeing each other again and during a festive season. You get to talk, have fun, go out, connect, laugh, create memories, eat, and all of that. And honestly, I can't help but to look forward to it.

And to be honest, I'm not the loud loud type, nah, I love to keep things simple even though I still like to have fun. Making and having delicious food, good music, and having families around is just enough for me, once all of that is set, the rest is history, trust me to enjoy myself to the fullest. I kove to cook, and it's been a while I've had to cook for s large number of people, even though there was a time I was working as a caterer, I had stopped it for now, and I miss cooking so much. But by this coming holiday time, I'm hopeful that the house will be full, and that would make me go again to check out and do what I'm good at again. Aside from that, I'm looking forward to that day when the house will be full like always and this time overfull because some of my brothers are neo married and with kids.

And with all of these in mind and the various things I've been imagining abiut going out and having fun, I can't but think about the situation of the country at the moment too. Everything keeps going up and prices of food and all keep on skyrocketing. You can't even afford to think of having fun because any small thing now feels like a financial mistake, you have to plan and replan and check and recheck before you can conveniently spend a thousand naira, else you will wonder how the money disappears and once it doesn't even stay. So, it's just better to know you're getting or spending it on something that's worth it.

And during this period one needs to be careful of how they spend, I mean during the celebration/holiday period, because at the end of the day reality will set in, you will have to return back to work, you will have house rent to pay, school fees to sort, and all other things. And it won't be good if you have used up all to do "Oblee." Not as if it's bad to celebrate, of course it is good, you want to gift out items l, business loved ones, travel, get clothes, have fun and all, but then, all of these is tied to the pocket and you as well need to remember that things that are affordable last year are now way above normal now.

So, I ain't planning on doing too much at all. I know how it feels to be broke, I know how it feels to be in a tight position, and for that reason, i would rather have a very simple celebration that gives me peace of mind and not one that will make me spend beyond my means. And about the coming holiday, I have high hopes for it, even though I can't say how it will turn out, but I trust and believe that it will go well. My prayer is that my friends and families including you reading this would be alive to not just witness it but also be in a very good health and pocket condition as well. And I as well pray that to as many that are struggling that the Lord will cause them to laugh this season.
