Home or School: Where Should A Child Really Learn?

Education we all know is one of the most important things we can give to a child. If not for education, I believe a lot of us won't be here today. Education is good and it is not even something to joke or think twice about. But seeing this topic, I feel there's a lot of things to put into consideration. I say that because education helps a child to understand the outside world, it helps a child to communicate with people, it helps a child to interact and a whole lot more. So where a child gets that education is very important, either at home or the traditional way.

Now, I for one do not think homeschooling is bad. And most parents often go for it because they believe it allows them have control over what their children get to learn, and all of that. Also, even the child himself/herself gets to learn easily and most importantly at their own pace. But can we now say it is way better than a child attending a traditional school. I passed through a traditional school and I very well know how much it helped me.

But I for one would prefer my child to attend a traditional school. Yeah, in an actual school a child gets to be able to interact, he gets so meet different children of his age range, he gets to learn amidst them all, work with them, make friends and all of that. It is even more fun. That was what I experienced and was able to learn a lot from. Met different people from different backgrounds and all, I understand very well that there's more to life and that children/humans can be different. Also, I feel I can say I went through homeschooling too. I remember having lesson teachers at home at each stages of my education. That is homeschooling too.

And as a child, there are a lot of things to learn. There are a lot lot of things you learn or see as a child that would be very difficult to unlearn when you become an adult, so if you learn at home and not amidst others it can be a little bit somehow and affect how you interact with others. And the school is a place that will expose them to a lot, they get to learn, unlearn and have various experiences. Also, learning in a school would help a child even think wider, they understand that life goes beyond their home and family. They understand that there are different people all from different backgrounds and all of that.

But then, while we send children to school there's still a way homeschooling can come in too. Like I said earlier about the one I get to experience while growing up, which is my parent getting me a lesson teacher, someone that will come teach me at home after the normal school time, which is definitely not everyday. So, a child can learn in school and still broaden his knowledge at home. Getting a lesson or home teacher will help the child gain extra knowledge and improve on their weak areas.

Education we all know is meant to prepare a child for life.

I like hearing a student’s own perspective on this. Sometimes the best way to understand education is to hear directly from the ones experiencing it. 😊
