Designer Children: The Day Humans Became Custom-Made Products.

When I first saw this topic, I had to go check again if I wasn't in a sci-fi discord channel, because it sounds more like a sci-fi related topic. That mere thought of someone or parents being able to choose or decide their babies color, hair type, eyes, height, intelligence, personality and many more sounds somehow. And to me, it doesn't even sound good at first. You know there are things you see and hear and it looks good or sounds good at first, well to me this didn't look nor sound good at all.

I know every parent wants what's good for their children, but in our pursuit of doing that we need to be careful as there are some things that even if it later becomes possible we shouldn't put our hands in it. Science is good and they are doing well, I love how the medical part of science so much as it has evolved so much that they don't just treat illnesses but are now able to do more like face and also being able to do certain deformities.

Maybe if it was something like being able to now do certain things like, it SS and SS
married, there's a way to go about it that none of their kids would be SS. I would have loved such. But now, saying a parent can choose their child's physical features, athletic abilities, height, tone/voice and the likes sounds somehow to me. To me, that is us not being human anymore. I feel good or products are what children will become if such became possible. Because only products are done that way, perfectly done so as to meet the expectations of consumers and then another producer decides to produce something better. Meaning, the family of Mr A has a child who's brilliant and tall, when the family of Mr B sees it, they want something better, so they choose a child who's got what that Mr A child does not possess.

Even though I don't agree with it or see anything good about it. Believe me if it was possible, very few people will have access to it. And these few people are the elites, those who are wealthy. And at the end of the day, we begin to see these designed or designer children as better than those who were given birth to naturally. I don't even want to imagine that of a future, will there be a different school for them, will they attend some schools, so now the debates they will now start participating in is, support or oppose the motion which says, designer or designed children are better then naturally born ones. I'm sorry I'm using designer children, it just sounds funny somehow....

Now, that aside, will such a child feel he or she is the better human or those who are given birth to naturally. Like, a child growing up to see that his/her color, heights and all wa what was chosen for him/her. Like.... Also, what if they at the end of the day do not become what the parents planned or choose for them. Also, such a child will not be able to discover who they really are since you've chosen what you want for them. We didn't even think of if there be an issue later on, you know how robots and the likes malfunction at times, what if something were to go wrong too.

Let's just leave it as it is. Parents and to-be parents should love, accept, care for and support the child God blesses them with. Like I said earlier, science is doing well, I would have agreed if it was stuffs like a child can have a different blood group even if the parents are SS, that kind of a thing to some extent can still sit well with me. But this, not at all. Humans aren't custom made products. We are not perfect, that is why we are humans.
