WHAT TRULY IS LIE?

I used to think a lie is the opposite of the truth, and that when someone doesn’t tell the truth they are officially lying. But then when I got to the age of 19, I discovered that according to the scriptures in the holy book, the devil actually told the truth, but with an intent to deceive man and make God a liar. For example, the persuasion to Eve was that she would not die as she thought which was true, because truly when she touched the fruit, she didn’t die, even more when she ate it, she didn’t die as she also imagined and this made her doubt whatever God had told Adam. And another truth was that she would be wise, and the bible said that after they both ate it, they became wise indeed because their eyes became open to the knowledge of their predicament. But then why did the scriptures say the devil lied to Adam and Eve, it was because He used their ignorance against them and made them believe what wasn’t true with the truth. This is the same thing that has broken spirituality and access to God forming diverse religions around the world because people out of ignorance have believed the truth wrongly which is what we call a LIE.

A lie to me is not the opposite of the truth, that could be a cooked up story, or even a fictional story. A lie is a perversion of the truth. When it comes from the truth, it follows the truth, but doesn’t end at the truth. Good liars are not those who say the opposite of what is real, they are the ones who tell you the truth with an intent to make you believe what isn’t true and there are usually facts to back them up because if there are no facts, then it’s mere hypocrisy. This is why the saying lawyers are liars has a very good level of fact to back it up. Lawyers usually learn to talk facts and the law judges with facts. This simply means that there is a thin line between a lie, and the truth, and that line is fact. Both have facts, the lie just hides the fact of the truth in order to win. I do not fear those who would deny the obvious, I fear those who would make you believe what they believe because those are the true liars and the truth is that they are very hard to catch because even if they put the truth before you, you might not be able to differentiate it from a lie.

Here in Africa, I have come to realize that there are three places where lies are prominent, the church, the news media, and the government. These three places tell you the truth but in perversions. And this is why I do not like to learn history, there are too many lies. For example, the early church made us believe Jesus was a white man, the news media can make an average footballer look elite, the government has started good projects in a bid to fulfill evil ambitions and the reason why they go on over and over again is because they all have facts to build on splitting the attention of the masses and making those with good intentions look evil. And the funny thing is that there is no one way to know what is true and anyone can be deceived with the right facts.
