When kids make mistakes you say they are foolish, but when adults make mistakes you know they were intentional. What’s the difference, except the child is a psychopath, they will do almost everything stupidly because it is just who they are and they want to sometimes express themselves in ways that are hard for them to explain. For example there was a child charged for homicide at the age of 13 and was taken to the juvenile center, but what the public did not know was that she was molested by her dad and her brother, her mum knew about it but did nothing about it until she burnt down their home with both parents inside. This action led to her arrest, but in this particular case the girl was the victim and even though her actions demanded jail time, she was a child whose childhood was stolen from her by those who were supposed to protect her innocence. Does she deserve time in Juvenile, yes. Does she deserve rehab, yes. Should everything be used against her when she is an adult, NO.

There are a lot of disturbed children in the world and that is the main reason the juvenile system was created, to help them so they do not grow up into the monster their childhood portrays them to be. A lot of people in the society tend to see kids from juvenile centers as monsters already and it isn’t fair to them especially if they are really making efforts to become better. Juvenile is meant to be a correctional center and although it is not jail, it is a form of it for kids who have committed crimes meant to put them in jail. This is why I believe that such cases be viewed thoroughly to understand what went wrong in the upbringing of the child to see if the child can redeem themself and not have to live with the scar of whatever mistake they made when their minds were not fully developed. A lot of the time (apart from psychopaths) children who commit these crimes have or had experienced very bad parenting which has affected their mental state.
Another question we should ask is if the juvenile system is even acting in the best interest of the child and if their experience there will make them better people or leave them worse than it met them. A lot of the time even the wardens of the juvenile centers do not really care about the kids which ends up affecting their mental health and leaving them with PTSD or making them feel like they won’t amount to anything in the future. At the end of the day these kids end up with traumas in juvenile centers and then come out worse than they started because instead of the juvenile center to help them, they end up traumatizing them. This is the reality of the society we live in, and there is nothing a lot of us can really do about it.

Everything shouldn't be used against her when she is of age because if she wasn't molested by her father and her brother, she wouldn't take such woeful action. Nice one; thanks for sharing
