SURVIVING A WAR

We do not pray for wars but when they come, what can we truly do? The fact that during world war two, a lot of innocent lives were lost, and even during the recent wars that have been going on, a lot of innocent people have died not because they were fighting, but because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Some of them were even in their homes when death came knocking at the door, which shows just how terrifying wars can be. You can never tell where the next explosion will happen and you can never tell how it will even happen. People were going about their normal daily activities when the atomic bomb went off during world war two, kids were in school, and parents were either at home or in their offices when they suddenly stopped breathing.

This is how bad it can be and why I will never pray for war. If I ever find myself in a war area, the first thing will be to leave. If my family is there, we are living the moment I hear the war begins. I do not want to stay to see what happens, I do not care about who wins or loses, I just want my family safe and sound. I believe that the lives of my family and myself is way more important than anything or any protection the world has to offer. I do not want to be a victim of circumstances and mistakes of a government who cares more about power than the lives of its citizens. I do not want me or my family to be a pawn in other people’s war so I will not fight in a war that doesn’t make sense. The only time I will consider fighting for my country is if we are being oppressed, then I know I am fighting for something and whether I live or die, I did it for something that is worth it.

I am not afraid to die, I do not just want to do it over something as clumsy as a 100 year grudge between countries. I do not want to continue a streak of fighting and deaths because I believe that if those in government who are setting up the war can not send their kids to the war front, then I should not be there. If they can’t be at the war front themself, then so should I. I believe in justice and not mediocracy. This is the reason why I need to work hard to make sure if something like this ever occurs, finance will never be an issue why we can not leave. But then again, I will prefer if there is no war at all, I will prefer if countries never had to fight, if no one ever held a grudge that could lead to a global or civil war. But what can I say, it is what it is.
