In today’s world are we really free? Is democracy truly a government of the people, for the people and by the people? Or do we have a government with other agendas? I think the latter is the case, especially for major African countries that practise military rule, monarchy, and pretend to practice democracy. The truth is if you see how majority of African countries are governed, you will see that colonialism wasn’t what put Africans in slavery, It was Africans who accepted slavery, loved slavery and preferred slavery. The fact remains that Africans like the show of power and strength and that is the major reason we live like slaves in our Father land. I remember South African history in 1960 where the police opened fire on her black citizens organizing a peaceful protest because they were told that they needed visa to live in their own country. Imagine that level of slavery. And even though it looks as though these are settled right now, there is still a level of racism from fellow citizens.

The Nigerian ENDSARS protest shows that even democracy is not enough to curb the level of slavery in the country. A country where election is only a show of democracy and not a practice because at the end of the day, the people’s choice isn’t elected. And talk about the people’s choice. It's often funny when in the even the candidacy for election isn’t fair, it’s not based on merit but credit. The party only elects those that can fulfil their ambitions and tell the masses to choose between the devil and the demon. Well we got no choice but to choose who we think is the least corrupt politician, and at the end of the day, the most corrupt still wins. So the power is not really with the citizens but with a few who can do and undo and still get away with it because they have the power to do so. Although the method of politics and democracy is not just prevalent in Africa but also in Europe, America, and Asia, especially when you think of tax reforms. It just shows you that power is power and the citizens do not have it.
In a lot of African countries you see presidents and heads of states rule for more than 20 years and no one is doing anything about it because in the real sense, no one can do anything about it. Some rule through military, and some rule through monarchy, but their method of ruling is mostly the same. Everyone is okay as long as everyone remains silent, whoever tries to speak u dies in the process and it goes on and on. Any nation where the citizens will face repercussions of speaking up is a country that rules through slavery. It doesn’t matter the system of government they practice, and this clearly shows that we are not truly free, and it’s not about rules and regulations or policies and constitutions, it’s about show of power and intimidation which is the major attribute of slavery.

Its indeed the worst of it all. The government using the poor citizens to play politics for their own gain.
They will lure the people to vote them into office with peanut 🥜 bribes and cater away billions. The worst kind of modern day slavery.
It's funny how the mistake happen over and over again
