LEARN FROM THESE PEOPLE

One of the major things that has made humanity grow to this point is the fact that someone somewhere is not satisfied with the things going on around them and thus they decide to think outside the box and create a change. The change however usually comes at a cost. For example, phones came into existence because someone was not satisfied with how long it takes to reach their loved ones. Although it came in the form of landlines, another person saw it and felt humanity deserves better. The idea of reaching family and friends very far away became a dream that gave birth to mobile phones. Now when people saw they could reach their loved ones far away, and even take the phones with them wherever they go, another idea came to do more than call with these phones and thus text features were added to phones. But this wasn’t enough, someone still thought that we could do more on these phones than just texts, and that was how the idea to make smart phones came into existence.

Looking at this evolution, even the creators never saw the picture we have today in the beginning. Facebook for example started as a mere messaging platform among college students, now it is a major platform for business advertisement. This kind of growth can only come through the hunger to do more and no matter how you look at it, even though there have been negative sides to it, the idea from the beginning was simple and positive. How could Mark Zukaberge foresee that people will use his app as a way to scam people or know that people will become so addicted to the contents of others that it will stop their own growth in life because it has become a major source of distraction to them. There was absolutely no way he would have known, and even if he did, how do you expect him to totally control the decision of others and how they decide to use their accounts. How was he to analyze that his users will be in the billions from the beginning . You can see that the variables at play are just too many and we can’t just begin to know it all.

But what if everyone was content with what they have from the beginning, what if we just wanted to keep things the way our forefathers did their things, we will be so outdated that life would have been so boring. Have you taken a look at those tribes who refused innovations and chose to hold onto the old ways in your country, how do they look? They are happy, they live simple, but they also live like they are caused. I can imagine how many innocent twins would have been dying as a form of taboo, or how many girls will continue to be mutilated because tradition demands it. Innovation came at a cost, yes, but it saved us from a lot of barbaric traditions that would have claimed lives. What we have now isn’t perfect, in fact, it is far from perfect, but it has helped us in ways we can’t even begin to appreciate. Humanity can never be at peace, this is a sad truth, Humans have always been and will always be this way, even animals are not fully at peace, peace is an idea of perfection that we create, the only way we can find peace is as individuals because collectively it won’t work, even if it does, it won’t last because nothing is perfect.
